I have to say that after suffering with the storm from launch, its nice to see a solid and stable blackberry. (I must admit that the storm's performance did improve a little with the 5.0 update. ie I only had to do a battery pull every other day, instead of multiple times per day)

I agree, i was with the storm still launch also....well I had the storm for 2 weeks after launch of storm 1, then i tried again at launch of storm 2 for 24 hours. What bothers me the most is that rim still cannot figure out a way to have all that processing power, and screen resolution and still not be able to have a battery that can power it. How do the iphones succeed in maintaining batt power? what about the mobile devices, all the HTC's? Could it be that rim knows nothing of batt power and all these other devices know how to handle battery power? it still mind boggles me.

I have a 8330, and I'm seriously considering getting the 8530. So far the reviews sound great...but does the 8530 have an insert for a memory card on the OUTSIDE of the phone unlike the 8330? It's kinda annoying to have to remove your battery door/battery to put in or remove memory card. If someone could let me know, that would be great...thanks

The memory card slot is behind the battery door so I guess it's not "hot-swappable". But the good news is that it's alongside the battery, not underneath it like on the 8330. Look under the "Reviews" link on Crackberry's front page and check out the 8350 links & reviews.Good pics.

I swapped the memory card from the 8330 to the 8530 while the 8530 was running just fine. It goes next to the battery in the 8530 (without the need to remove the 8530 battery)

Hey. Btw. Small issue. I can't connect to my wireless network using wep or wpa. It says connected but I don't get a green check in manage connection screen and obv no internet access. Then I changed my router to wpa2 and all was fine and wifi was fine. Problem is I have 2 pcs with old adapters that don't support wep 2 so I can't keep that wireless setting. I've been trying with wep and it doesn't work. As soon as I switch router to wpa2 I get wifi instantly. Anyone else having probs or maybe its me ?

I'm glad to see the reviews are so positive as I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick one up. Biggest negative for me is that it is not a world phone. I'm pretty dissapointed that it's not. RIM has taken so many steps forward with this device that I'm really suprised they left this out of the device. I do go to europe a few times a year for work and love having my Tour and Storm 2 to use.

This post has helped but I'm still unsure..... so I need all your inputs!

I was up for an upgrade and decieded to go for a bb. I went with the Curve because it was only $50 and I figured if I didn't like the whole bb I wasn't out too much money. So I have had it for about 2 weeks now and absolutley love it! But I went into Verizon and saw the new Curve2 and now am totally not sure to stay with what I have or just pay the difference and get the new Curve2. Being new to the whole bb thing I just need some advice- and quick before my 30 days are up!!!!

Thanks!!!!!

Well I made the switch today myself. After 2 attempts with a Droid I gave up and went back to my 8330. Then today I said why not and got the 8530. First impressions are positive. Even though the screen is the same resolution it seems sharper. The trackpad is a nice improvement. I'm not sure on battery life yet. We'll see over the next few days. The wifi is nice, but more of a bonus than something I'll end up using a lot. The keyboard is very good and overall the phone feels great in the hand. I had read it was cheap feeling, but mine feels very solid. My only 2 complaints are the lack of flash and evdo rev. A. Neither is a deal breaker, but would be nice if included. I was planning on waiting for the new Tour, but this phone might be the one to allow me to see what's on the horizon later next year.

I had TWO of the Storm 2s in a 24 hr period. First one, the send button wouldnt even push! I called and they said "Well you can send calls hitting the BB button twice." WTH? So I should keep it bc of that?

Second one, the screen froze up, then it just shut off, wouldnt turn back on. Did bat pulls, got it to reboot only for it to freeze again and shut off.

Its heavy, you cant type very well (and Im a woman with average hands, cant imagine a big guy trying to type) and it moved slow as if it was "thinking" when I tried to close stuff out.

I swapped to the Curve 2 and I LOVE it. The trackpad is great, the camera isnt fabulous but its worth the swap. Not to mention Blackberry finally made me my all time favorite, PURPLE!

Even though the camera is the same as the 8330. Everyone on facebook and friends with other BBs have said my picture quality has vastly improved. So I'm really happy with this phone. I've wanted wifi for so long but I finally realized on phones like this. 3G is fine

Not everyone needs or even desires a ton of phone or functions. A devices that tries to be the Alpha-Omega usually ends up being more trouble than it's worth, oftentimes.

But, in my case, I absolutely need the flash, so it won't work for me. But it looks to be a sweet improvement in many ways, especially in memory. Glad ya'll found the right spot to be in with the Curve2!

Nice to know. I've been a VZW BB user for over 10 years and was just about to upgrade to the S2 from my 8330 but will definitely take a look at the 8530. It would certainly be a more shallow learning curve.

I, too, tried the Droid...and the Eris...and the Tour, but ended up going back to my 8330. In all honesty, if the 8530 EVDO response is the same as on my 8330 I'm perfectly happy as the only thing I use this for is my native Gmail Mobile App, Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks. Occasionally, I need to search for something but I am patient enough for it come render the pages. How much faster is Rev. EVDO for browsing?
