I just did the live chat and was told that it isn't shipping until the 13th. The preorder people will be the first to get the Tour though.

apparently to one verizon rep today they told me that upgrades werent available. Then my local store said they were. Yet i still can't upgrade mine....

As a female....I don't even want to be posting in this thread...but I will anyway....it's contradictory to say the Tour will ship out on the 13th but that those who pre ordered "will get the Tour first". The stores are releasing them on the 12th, so those who pre ordered will only get them first if they're shipped the week before. It'd be brilliant of VZW to ship the pre orders this week. It'd make it SO worth pre ordering!

I don't know. You know, I'm really starting to consider myself lucky since I've been reading that so many people are having a hard time getting theirs moved up when they're like 2 weeks away.

All I did was email them and tell them that I needed to upgrade my phone because my dumbphone wasn't meeting my everyday needs. I didn't make up any stories about my phone giving out on me or anything. I think that might be the big difference between me and those who could not upgrade early. This will be my first blackberry, so I will be tacking on the extra $30 a month for data.

Whatever else it might be worth: we've been with Verizon since before they were Verizon and have never ever paid a payment late. The account only has 2 lines and they're both $39.99 a month plans.

I'm starting to worry that when I hear back from the lady she'll say "oh I made a mistake and won't be able to upgrade you." So we'll see. I'll definitely let you guys know if that happens!

On another note, I noticed in another thread that somebody said a CSR told them the phone would ship THIS Thursday. So I'm starting to get anxious and may end up calling the lady I dealt with back on Tuesday or Wednesday to get my order through.
