Default BB Tour 9630 - Voice and Data

Can you use the voice and data at the same time on the Blackberry Tour 9630 with Verizon? (ie while on a conference call send and receive email) This cannot be done with my Blackberry Storm 9530, After I get off a call the emails come pouring in. To my knowledge the Blackberry Bold from At&T is the ONLY Blackberry that can do this.

No, you cannot use voice and data simultaneously with the 9630. That is one advantage the Bold has over the Tour.

So which device is better Bold on AT&T or the Tour on Verizon? As it looks now the Bold seems to be the more capable device ie faster processor, Data & Voice simultaneously etc.

There is a great thread over here that really delves into that question:

Thanks that was very helpful. Looks like I will be getting a Bold and flipping my Storm (JUNK)out of the window.

just to point out - your questions were answered in the guide, and the same link to the niagara vs. bold thread was linked .

on a side note -- i'd pick up a bold too if i had access to AT&T, but im on verizon and won't be leaving any time soon, so the tour will be a perfect substitute for me. sad it has a couple fewer capabilities, but i will be happy with it nonetheless.

Wasnt this just answered on the prev page? Just saying. I understand if this thing was 25 pages deep, but its 3 pages total.

GSM setting: voice + data, same time.
CDMA setting: voice at one time, data (not including SMS) at one time. Cant do at same time. Technology limitation NOT a phone limitation.

Default 256k?

As far as specs are concerned are we sure that the 9630 Tour has 256k? The reason that I ask is because one member who has one (and who has posted a video on youtube) has said that his 9630 shows that it only has 128k and he has no idea why people are saying it has 256k.

Yes, the Tour has been reported by many that it is a 3G phone.

Ask CX for the the actual device memory. I'll have to look for the links but the actual testers on here and howardforums I believe said it has a TOTAL of 256MB.

But "showing" and actually having are two different things. The storm has 128MB of device memory but showing was always hovering around 22MB when I had it. The device memory is like RAM. The BB uses that memory to basically run apps. The more apps you have running, the less memory it is going "to show" available. Make sense?
