Good News- Testers for vzw data have them

My friend is a data tester for verizon wireless, im not sure if thats her exact title but she used to work with my wife (who works at a corporate store) and now works at a different facility. She called my wife to let her know that she received the tour and it should be out in mid july. Its running 4.7 I believe, not 5.0, and she said it was near flawless.

Dont flame me, what was weird was she mentioned that they had a touch screen tour there as well, I think shes mistaken or is mixing things up. She said she hasnt had a hands on with it, so im not sure if she is shooting from the hip or has actually seen it but she said that the the tour (the one were waiting for ) is in her hands and it will be in ours in about a month. She actually mentioned that she thought it was coming out on a friday but that was speculation in her office- something about blackberries coming out on fridays, not mondays.

DONT FLAME- My wifes friend doesnt post on this board, is under an clause to not disclose but since her name isnt mentioned here and shes not sharing pictured, im not worried

This is the second time today I have heard about a touch screen Tour... you mean there are two tours? One a touch screen and one not? great news though and I hope no one here is dumb enough to flame you, if they do, just ignore them.. thanks for the information!

I just thought she was off her rocker when she mentioned that there might be a tour with a touchscreen, didnt look at the links on the page when i posted this, got so excited and wanted to share the news with you guys.

Im just an enthusiast, my wife works for verizon and we have friends all over the spectrum of the business from att to verizon to old unicel, i used to be in the business as well before becoming an officer.

Hope something happens in the next month, I want the tour to join my blackberry family- just wouldnt get a touch screen one, whats the purpose you know?

This is good news. Thanks for this, further confirmation of mid-July. But that touchscreen rumor is now making me worry. Should I wait? Should I get the regular Tour? Is the touchscreen the Atlas? AGHH!

Well, I could see it being much easier to browse on the internet with a touchscreen than with that little ball, you know? As for other uses...no idea

I JUST called Verizon at *611 and asked them if they have a blackberry besides storm 2 with a touch screen coming in the near future and she sales lady did reply back saying yes but she did not know the name of it?...I asked if it was the Tour, and once again she didn't know..... she did say the touch screen was coming soon besides the storm 2 .... interesting though

edit...im gonna keep calling a different rep and see if I can talk to someone that knows some more about the upcoming blackberrys and see if i can pull some info off one of them that have there head on straight...

I also heard that there were 2 versions of the Tour. Though the other one was a camera free version, not a touch screen version.

Tell your freind whos got the Tours to pick up the one that is a touch screen and let you know what kind of phone it really is.... it would help us out a lot over here too to know if there really is a such thing as a Tour touch screen

Yes, my thoughts as well. Find out if it has a track ball as well. I am hoping for a touch screen, no surepress, with a track ball. Maybe someone can chime in that is in the know?
