Sudden issues with Facebook App 1.7

Seeing a few posts similar to this...

I downloaded the 1.7 version of the Facebook app, which worked perfectly for a while, but all of a sudden I am getting "a connection cannot be made to the facebook server" error, my notifications - if they even are delivered at all - come in sporadically, hours, or minutes late, and are often are duplicated, I also get a "stream not available" error, a "post cannot be retrieved at this time try again later" error, notifications that my responses were not posted, and yet they were... it's frustrating to say the least... and very odd since the app worked perfectly up until about a week or so ago.

I have deleted and re-installed both the Gmail account on BIS it's connected to and FB app, battery pulled, and reset everything I could think of.

Should I just give up on the app and have my FB notifications delivered by SMS?? At least then I could check the FB mobile website using the browser which seems to work perfectly.

I am using a Gmail account for my facebook notifications... and did not experience these issues with the 1.6 Facebook app.

I just updated the OS to 4.6.1.294 (telus).

Any suggestions?? THANKS!

I think facebook is having issues, I deleted mine because it seemed easier to just go the mobile site instead. They will probably fix it when they updated it again.

Same issues. Completely useless app to have on the phone now. Apparently, nothing will fix this either :/ Sad, seeing as I'm a complete Facebook addict.

LOL. It works perfectly today. Go figure. To me this means FB app issue not necessarily BB issue - but who knows. I guess I will go back to the mobile website. :/

I think FB was having some issues yesterday. I don't use the app, but I wasn't receiving email notifications until late last night, then they all came at once.

ya I'm pretty sure now it was FB - only I think it was the backend of the site - not even the mobile app. they keep changing things... but you never know with this 8350i - it seems to have had a lot of issues!
