Default Opinions - update from 204, to 313 or not?

I've yet to update to the new 313, as I've no problems except for the occasional late (or sometimes undelivered) text(s). I've had to go to Sprint.com and check the MMS section online frequently to see the ones I've missed.
Note: I've not missed any text(s) in the last week!

I see where 313 is now posted available on the Sprint.com/Nextel website... So, those who have updated to the new 313; do you feel it made that big a difference, and are there any quirks that you did not have with 204 and you would rather not have when it comes to 8350i's performance. Thanks.

Pro's?
Con's?

since it's now an official update, it's always best to run the most current software that RIM provides.

I re-fell in love with my BB since updating. Everything is so much faster and I'm not missing any texts, either. Plus, my browser actually runs at high speed when connected to my home network, before it always lagged as though it was ordinary Nextel wireless internet.

No problems here!! Major plus for me is somehow they made better use of the antenna. I used to get one out of 3 calls when at home, now I get 3 out out 4. Love it. Others have reported the same thing too. Another is the DC button pulling up your DC contacts with a single push, don't use mine now, but if and when I do have to start using it again that will be huge perk. The only thing I don't like is the voiccmeail notification coming as a "text". Its annoying to me, but minor and worth having to put up with because I no longer get 5-6 voicemails a day (another plus for the antenna boost) overall, very happy.

I agree with all this, yet I have not had the Voicemail text, wierd! Update to .313 is a great choice.

Correction, I just made a test call to myself and I did get the VM SMS. Not a big deal, though my wife will love it b/c she complained of not knowing when she had a VM...time to update her phone!!!

No need to clear out the DC logs all you need to do is turn off the logging by going to the home screen, hit the green phone key, scroll to options, scroll to call logging, select "All calls no direct connect". This will eliminate the DC from showing up.

Is it worth it to upgrade to .313 if you NEVER use the DC feature?

Best,
Blacker

I have not had any problems with the update. no probs with phonebook, texting, web,DC, NOTHING. I think it is well worth the update. Everything about the phone seems to be faster, even the reboots.

Go into contacts and hold the alt key, then type RBLD in all lowercase.

Happy Thanksgiving CB Nation!

I decided to take the plunge and upgrade today. I upgraded OTA w/o any difficulties or complications. I was expecting a two hour process, only to complete in an hour. No issues after three hours of testing and rebooting. The real test I guess is when I return home and check signal strength in surroundings that I am more familiar with.

Best,
Blacker

I agree! Rim is making great plans to bring the 5.0 experience to our device. This update is a small step to that end. It's a shame that 313 wasn't the OS on the device when released a year ago. It would never have earned the troubled reputation that followed. But I'm so glad to have stuck with it. Name another bb that can hit up a buddy in Vegas and instantly have a conversation with no perceptible delay? This device is so much more than a smartphone-- Nextel dead or dying? Not around here! Chirp, chirp!
