I just finished installing this latest update, no visual changes seen yet.

Could you please tell us what are the changes on this update and what does it fix? That would be indeed a cool thing.

Does it just turn off the annoying new "DC My Info Received" message after every DC call or actually completely disable DC call logging?

It gives you the option if you want to turn it off...green call button>blackberry button>options>call logging>click on all calls no direct connect..."DC my info received," GONE!

Wow. I was playing around with a new Mac and installed Desktop Manager for Mac and that's how I found out the new version came out. No e-mail from Nextel or anything?

I hope this doesn't mean that 5.0 is now far away because they just released this newer 4.6 build.

It's been a while since I posted but I think it's important to give y'all my upgrade experience since it seems like I'm the only one having this problem.

I had a thread when the phone first came out about how the 8350i was making my life as a contractor miserable. The previous upgrade before this one made the phone very usable and I was at least satisfied that I'd be able to use it for my full 2 year contract.

After upgrading, I've had the following problems:

1. If I ignore a call that comes in while already talking on the phone, after the call waiting beeps stop, my conversation is thrust into speakerphone mode and the phone goes back to the home screen. There is no way to hang up, turn speaker phone off, etc. The call will only end when the other person hangs up. This happened one time while I was having a very private conversation and I didn't have time to tell the person on the other line that they were on speaker and other people could hear. This happens about 25% of the time I get a call waiting call.

2. If I don't do a battery pull after that happens, the phone will sometimes not ring when a call comes in, and the caller ID screen will get stuck until I hit the red hang-up button.

3. Sometimes the radio gets reset and I get the "SOS" reading for no reason

4. My reception has gotten FAR worse

5. I've been told I sound like I robot now.

What could have happened? I'm going to have to downgrade I guess. I had made up my mind a long time ago to ditch Nextel and RIM products alltogether after my contract is up and this "upgrade" only reinforces that decision. I just don't get how software like this EVER gets released without being fully tested.

Me too, I said it in my previous post. Seems like a bug that's set off by another bug.

Have you guys checked in your Event Log, to see what error might be triggering it. Might be 3rd party, or maybe a hybrid OS will solve the problem, but without knowing the cause...

Had 507 errors from fallout during the system load time of the update.

Changed to another usb port did not help.

Changed to another computer and loaded first time, reloaded service books and re setup options on a few apps' and all is well.

I like the new DC menu even tho i only have two on the list. Otherwise everything seems fine.
