yes there is i have collected several applications and i use boost and yes sms works and so does the bb browser through a hack i know its posted on the workaround pages its page 3 third post from the bottom you just need to download it and then unzip the file and install it with the BB DM the are several postings on how to set it up, but this is the one that works

easy follow this steps one at a time:

1. ENABLE SERVICE BOOK COMPLETE BACKUP / OVER WRITE / RESTORE on the Device, like this:
---Options/Advanced Options/Service Books press key combo

{Alt}{S}{B}{E}{B}
(This means that you have to press the ALT Key and hold it, and then with ALT key hold pres letters S than B than E than B, and release the ALT key
you will receive a message.

2. BACKUP EXISTING SERVICE BOOKS
--Hook up the phone to the laptop
--Blackberry Desktop Manager, Backup/Restore, Advanced, Backup existing service books to a safe place so in the event of a problem they can be restored

3. WRITE NEW SERVICE BOOKS TO DEVICE

--BB DM, Backup/Restore, Advanced, Left Window, find AutoPrime's BB W/O BIS / MMS ipd file and restore it.

4. Disconnect phone from laptop

5. Battery pull, wait for phone to reboot.

6. Phone, Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, BB Menu key, Register

7. Battery pull.

wait the phone to reboot, and then go to browser and change the hot spot to browser, and done!!

as for sms there is two different ways that i know for sure work one is with gmail and the other is with bejive

1. so when i have someone text me i have to as them to text it to my gmail account

2. and when i want to send out a message if i told the person to text it to me to my gmail account i can just reply and it will work but if i dont tell them to send it to my gmail i have to ask each person which provider they have

but you before you can do this you have to set up sms forwarding to your phone the instructions for that are on page one post #1 on the boostberry work arounds

the second method for sending sms is with beejive you still have to setup forwarding as well so if you did it once you dont need to do it again just incase you didnt know so how to do this is:
you need to download beejive then when your in sign in with aol messenger aka AIM if you dont have an aol account your going to have to go to aol.com and make one then you just put +1 then the persons number 10 digits not 7 to send out sms but for the first sms you send out the person has to accept in order to for you to hold a conversation and its in real time so its fast but it will only work work aol i tried my google talk messenger and it did not work it also cool because you can save your contacts names and they tell you if they are online

hope this helps also check out this link it the most useful info there is in one thread and you can get alot of free apps with it and other downloads

i setup the text forwarding to my cell via from the sprint / nextel site entered my email address for gmail then downloaded the google mobile app to make be able to view my messages i dont like reply from gmail via the phone#@the providers name it takes to long to send out messages so i downloaded beejive and text in real time so there is no delay and the once a message is sent out the reply will come in through in beejive as well as gmail but you have to use the aol account for beejive not any other the reason being is when sending a message you have to put +1 then the phone # and then the person has to accept the message the bad thing is beejive costs $20 for the program and only this method only works with aol

looks like you can also use instango and beejive to send and receive sms but with yahoo as your provider i here its faster and better than using aol just another option to keep in mind

try going to a coffee house or a area where they have free wifi you may need to set up your wifi connection its under manage connection then let me know if you get this up and running and get the bb browser to work via a wifi connection because i want to try an ota download for you its the easiest
