I have a problem. When I try and backup my storm, it goes through the motions but stops at one point and a pop up says " Error backing up databases".

wth???? I am unable to do a backup. any ideas how to get a backup without having to wipe and starting from scratch? I had planned on getting .83 on here tonight...

Default upgrade to new os

if you go to the options part on your storm you can go to wireless upgrade and get the upgrade to the new os software from verizon directly to your phone, or if you are still having problems with it you can call verizon and they will ship you out a new phone with the new os on the phone.

Many post on this. Most suggest clearing browser cache. Mine will stall just about everytime unless I clear cache first.

Thanks CX.

Ive done the leaked .75 and .83 and didnt have any issues. But i did go back and follow your instructions on uninstalling the update feature. One problem I have is after I installed the .83 on my pc i went to uninstall the .75 out of add\remove, It gets about half way and throws a vbscipt error an closed. Seems I cant uninstall older versions of the OS. Any thoughts?

Go to the Control Panel on your computer>Add/Remove programs and you can remove it from there.

So it sounds like you just want to remove it from computer? Take a look at Windows CleanUp utility. http:// support. microsoft. com/kb/290301 (remove spaces). This will remove it from the list, since it sounds like you aren't planning on going back to .75

FYI - I upgraded from the leaked .75 to the leaked .83 this weekend. I did not delete the vendor file first before opening BB Desktop Manager and it found the .83 update just fine and allowed me to upgrade successfully.

Vendor Xml files on betas are usually empty, which is why it installed. If it was an Official release from a different carrier, it would not have installed.

Great updates. Can someone have the Blackberry101 blog post updated with revised instructions as well? Having this in the Storm forum is helpful but it applies universally to the desktop manager software for all BB's.
