I don't think that I have seen this one. If you are in calendar app where you set an appointment I discovered that if you select the time of the appointment the day/date box comes up. To then select the day/date of the appointment you can simply slide your finger up or down on either side of the box to scroll the date either up or down. This works for the month, year, am/pm, hours and mins.

This is not true. It is the connection method for email and the internet only. The phone and sms and mms still work normally. This was a great discovery for me since I can turn off the radio while sitting at my computer and not get duplicates of all the emails all day long that would be deleted on the BB later.

So... where is the radio choice to make the emails stop from dloading to the bb? Thanks for the answer.

I just discovered that the sound profile indicator on the top left corner of the home screen is a clickable button. Click it to change your sound profile without going into Setup

I stand corrected. That's what I was TRYING to say, but the words got lost in translation from my brain to my fingers. Thanks for the correction.

If you open up the full menu, and click on "Manage Connections" you should see an option in there to turn off the radio.

Talking

This tip is elsewhere on the site but I didn't see it in the Storm forum (and as such just found it on the phone accidentally).

To get your email and SMS/MMS messages all in one folder, go to your "Messages" folder and:
BB button/Options/General Options/SMS and Email Inboxes:
Set it to "Combined".

I'd been following two folders for all (read email/sms/voicemail) messages. Now its down to one. I'm a streamlined kind of guy so I'm thrilled. Edit: Your SMS/MMS Icon will disappear. No worries; it comes back if you reverse the setting.

If this is elsewhere or I've restated the obvious, my apologies. I was psyched to have something to share though.

I noticed while listening to music, browsing through all songs. If you leave your finger over a song it will pull up all songs by that artist.

It is in bedside mode. Click the screen (if the clock is showing) and hit exit bedside mode.

I have Verizon, and on my old phones (which were LG's) I was able to type as many "characters" as I wanted in one message to a contact, and as long as they were in the Verizon network, they would all send in one long message. The Storm is my first Blackberry so I don't know very much about them, so this might be a dumb question. I am wondering if there is any way to set it so that you can type more than 160 characters per message? It always says "Field Full!" and then won't let me type anymore. So when I type really long messages I will type one, save it as a draft, type another one, save it as a draft, then type the final message and then save it as a draft and then finally send them all separately. My family and some of my friends don't have Blackberrys so I can't just use BBM with them to type long messages.

If someone could please help me that would be awesome, thank you!!

It didn't actually all send in one message, it broke it up into multiple. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell the solution you found is the only one. That's how I send long messages. Well, the best news is that pretty soon EVERYONE will use BBs and it won't be a problem. I can dream, can't I?

I've tried to streamline my settings on each of these apps but it's not fixing my problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Two things.
1. Weatherbug continuously updates so that could be running down your battery life.
2. Someone on crackberry told me to do this and it worked for me. Turn your phone off, put it on charge for 16-24 hours (I put it on for 17). My battery life increased incredibly because of that. I know it is hard to be without a phone for that long but it is worth it. You only need to do it once.

I just discovered something I think is very cool. While viewing a web page, you can click on a phone number or email address on the web page and you will get a dialog box asking if you wish to call that telephone number or send an email to that address.

What an awesome shortcut if you are trying to contact a business or restaurant. This phone continues to amaze me!
