Unless the Visual Voicemail and VZ Navigator are actually running, it makes no sense to believe they are effecting performance. Those are actually the two best apps on this phone - LOL

Default How To Make Your Call Log Your Initial Screen in Phone Mode:

I like to be able to pull up previously called numbers easily. So I set my call log to be my initial screen when in phone mode.

How to:
When in phone mode, press the BB key,
Choose Options
Choose General Options
Change "Initial View" from "Dial Pad" to "Call Log"
(you can also choose "Contacts" if you want)
Save Changes.

You may also want to go into "Call Logging" Options and change your log to "All Calls". That way you will see received, sent and missed calls in your log.

Thanks for this post. It got me thinking. I was having problems with being able to do the ALT +C+N+F+G command from Entrerprise Activation screen to check wireless sync options (I use it to force an Entrprise Activation, which re-sends BES configurations and Service Books)... I got it to work. See the following, which I posted elsewhere.

Essentially, the 123 button is the old physical keyboard ALT button... So, if you want to do the over the air Enterprise Activation push for BES (without having your IT department set up a password), I FOUND OUT HOW TO DO IT using the old ALT +C+N+F+G method!

Press and hold the 123 key in Landscape mode until the lock icon appears. This is like holding the ALT button. Then, press "9 ! 6 /" .... That's it! The problem I was having was that on a physical old keyboard, the "N" corresponds to "," On this keyboard, N corresponds to !

If anyone is having problems with the BES Activation hanging up, this might help. Once you enter those key strokes, a menu comes up. Turn OFF wireless sync, then save and backout. Wait a minute or two. Then repeat the process and turn wireless sync ON. Save. Back out and wait. Enterprise Activation should start on its own. If it does not (which it didn't for me), pull the battery. When the device turns back on, it WILL do an activation.

I'm so happy.

Default OTA Update Check Addition

One of the best from the original thread...

some phones have the wireless update option in advances options, if not, do this:

options > advanced options > service book > hover* over 'provisioning [otasl]' > menu key > delete >menu key > undelete

repeat that a few times then go to the home screen again then options > advanced options and there should be a new thing that says wireless upgrade at the bottom

obviously no upgrades yet, but at least you know you can do it OTA

mine didn't make the list
TIP: if you use visual voicemail and would like to automatically have it on speakerphone or handset:
on the top of the screen, it says "visual voicemail" right next to it should be a blue speaker icon.
if it's not lit, then you're on handset,
if you click on it, and it's lit, then it will automatically be on speakerphone
no need to keep changing it to speaker/handset, your previous setting will stay.
** if you don't have the speaker button next to visual voicemail, if you click on compose on the bottom of the screen, it should show up***
