Also if you highlight the bar above your top messages and then menu, delete prior, you can delete all messages.

When typing in a URL and only when typing in a URL if you hold your finger over any letter, not press just touching, the "/" button appears.

For you SMS messages (and probably your emails as well, just haven't set it up with corporate yet, so I haven't tested it)

If you click on the date that the message came in, then select menu, and make sure you have the full menu, you can "delete prior." It's faster than trying to select multiple ones at a time if you really just want them all deleted.

I have a brother that has a psp and he has a program that he converted a copy of a movie dvd he has and put it into .MP4 format.. He allowed me to load it onto my storm and the video is just amazing playing flawlessly... unlike my previous treo 700wx I can actually watch this movie without causing me a headache..

Questions
1) When i synced my phone earlier today it has changed something about how I am notified when i get a new email.. it use to have a red star on the email icon and 1 on the messages icon.. now when i get a new email it just shows on the messages and doesnt show under the email icon.. I do have the sms and email seperated so I can see txt messages seperate from email and phone messages.. where is this setting to show new messages on the email icon?

2) Is there a quick way to silence the notification of new emails during the night hours? currently I have to go to email screen>bb>message alerts>email> volume and adjust to silent.. Is this the fastest way? i wish there was a way to silence the alerts of emails during specific time frames...

3) Have any of you experiemented with the key rate and tap interval, hover period and swipe sensitivity settings under options>screen/keyboard? If so what are some recomended settings to try?

1 question that I haven't seen addresses (although I may have missed it - if so, sorry!)

Everytime I get a voicemail, I get a text message telling me I have a v.m., which is highly annoying. Can I not turn that feature off? I've looked everywhere!

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but this will help the opera browser users the most.

To instantly access the keyboard anywhere on the device start your finger on the bottom menu and slide it up. This will display the keyboard without having to go into the menu.

I found that just by powering it down then power back up that it will clear its cobwebs. "Seems like if you have it in your pocket for awhile then try to use it, it acts like it is locked up."

Thanks to all, these tips have been amazing. Just a couple of questions I can't find answers to.

Is there still an undo button on the storm? On my Curve I could hit alt + z and it would undo if i accidentally erased a block of text or something, but without the alt key i can no longer do it. Is there another way?

Also, is there a way to change the settings so that it won't take so long to turn the cursor from blue to the box when holding my finger down? Again, thanks so much. You have made using my storm a pleasure.

I have had the same problem.
Thanks for the info, it’s really slow powering back on L but if it works it works.

quick pull works fine on my storm... runs in compatibility mode but still restarts the device.

Go to Options->Screen/Keyboard and decrease Hover Period for the touchscreen...set it to 100 and you should notice the blue cursor changes to a box more quickly (or i am hallucinating). also, been pointed out a few times in this thread, but it changed my life, you can hold down your finger ANYWHERE to change cursor to the box (no need for see-through finger!! yay!)

Awesome info on the contacts...Heck as with most of the info on here...as a BB noob I went straight for the newest when my 6700 slid in half last week...figured I would give BB a try...these tips have been fantastic for me!

i have my tap interval at 500 my hover period varies and swipe sensitivity at HIGH..just call tech support theyll break it down for you.
