hey guys again another question, this new update 5.0.0328 I think why is it that my blkbry moblile app that I downloaded I can't find it? Can I make an icon for it so I go to it faster or what? Help thanks

No luck. i tried deleting apps like Slacker, but nothing happened. I did notice that there is only 5,000kb of RAM available. Right after a battery pull. Do you think if I do the 5.0 upgrade, it will help?

Sorry guys, I've tried searching for this but couldn't find it. If I have a .jad file and a .cod file, is there any way to get the .alx file?

Not sure what you mean by "BlackBerry Mobile" App. Can you clarify?

That would be the last suggestion I could give you, software-wise. Do a backup, and upgrade your OS. If that still doesn't do the trick, I would suggest taking it to your carrier, as you may have a hardware issue.

Unfortunately not. The jad file and alx files are the files which tell the device where to and how to install (jad) or tell desktop manager how to do the same (alx). They are each a completely different "instruction manual", containing a different set of protocols.

I have been trying for about a week or so to fix this. All of my contacts have a "synchronize using ..." and then an email, ok, good, problem is I no longer have that email pushed to my bb. Is there a way to change that? I have a couple of other emails pushed, how can I choose the one email I want? I tweeted about it, but no one has replied to me about it.

I am on OS 5.0.0.328

I have an indicator that i have a new sms, but I can't don't have any new sms's. Is there any way to get rid of it. i've done a few battery pulls and they didn't work.

Check your saved messages to see if you have saved an unread sms. You can also highlight the date at the top and select "Mark Prior Opened". Between the two, you should clear the indicator.

2)when i start to watch a video in lanscape mode nd then switch to portrait mode it still remains in portrait mode only?? why?

I still have no fix for this. I test drove a Storm 2 for about a week, and it kept saying the same thing. Now I am on a Tour and it continues to say the same thing. I deleted DM and installed it again. I restored synced and did it through Outlook and still no fix. I deleted my gmail account on my bb and added it again, and there is still no fix. That one email showing up is not even on my bb anymore. I may have inadvertently checked the option to synch wirelessly when I first added that one email to my bb, but there is not an option to undo that. Any suggestions? Please pm possible leads, as I usually don't subscribe to threads.

Hi PKCable - i used to use the following to clean up my Storm memory:

Tip 5 Memory Clean up!

Step 1 Clear Browser Caches (this helps when the BB won't do backups sometimes). Open the BB Browser, Press the BB button, select Options, then Cache Operations, then clear out all 4 areas.
Step2 Enable & Use Memory Cleaning (You only need to enable once, or after an update of the OS). Click Options, then Security Options, then Memory Cleaning, first set it to enable, then when you do my clean up routine, just press the BB button and select Clean Now (After Clicking on Memory Cleanup).
Step 3 Clear the Java log. From the homescreen, press the BB button, and select show keyboard (in landscape) hold the !?123 button to lock in then press "/"/ (or if in portrait ,5,5), then press the BB button and select clear log.
Step 4 Battery Pull (optional) for max effect.


I have upgraded to v5.0.0.328 and cannot perform these steps. Can you post the revised Steps 1 - 3 for the new version?

Yes I will rework the steps. Hopefully RIM will fix this issue but there is a work around. Basically you assign the keyboard to a hard key. Or you use quicklaunch (a pay program) that has a setting for calling up the event log. I will revise the steps when I get to a pc. I am out of town till tomorrow.
