but if you update your the software you might lose the service book for the browser and you won't be able to connect to the internet. so you would have to repeat the process al over again
thanks for the info.....

So i need to go to verizon to activate the phone under verizon on the smallest plan possible. does that mean data as well? can i cancel it the next day and the phone will be activated?

does that mean that everyone that is running tmobile on the storm has a verizon contract as well?

It may be a little different on the Storm, Go to options>advanced>Sim Card>type MEPD ( you won't see this as you type) All should say Disabled. If any say Active. It's still locked.

type MEPD then MEP2 enter the code. You need to do this with the Verizon Sim inserted. Then put in the tmobile Sim and and verify its unlocked.

I live in the uk and have a blackberry storm. Dont ask how but i paid to have it unlocked and use my t mobile sim card with it...

the phone seems ok but too slow for my liking.
I want to instal the vodafone software update but dont know whether it will block my phone once it is installed. I paid a fair bit to have it unlocked and dont want to pay any more. Im not sure if its like the iphone where firmware updates block future unblocking..

can anyone please help!!!!!!!!

Unlocking is permanent. Once unlocked it stays unlocked. So update away friend.

As long as network says active its locked. Enter the number carefully. You only get 10 tries then the phone will lock up and and you will have a very nice paper weight.
