HELP, I followed these instructions to the letter and updated the PIN on my TMobile account to be my Storm device. I have "edge" but can't get the data "EDGE". I have gone to the Host Routing Table and it is empty. All services books are there from the ipd file and I have the browser icons and can surf the web using WAP browser but can't get my email service books and EDGE connection.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

EDIT: One last note, my device says ACTIVATION REQUIRED in capitals at the top of the screen and I can seem to get rid of it. Any ideas on this or are they related.

I tried this process multiple times and i haven't been able to get anything but the VZ Navigator to work. I have only tried it with OS .75 though, could that be whats wrong? My desktop manager never recognizes that anything is different w/ net.bb.browser.deaman is gone. Help?

Thanks pltaylor! That worked great. Will you be able to get AIM working anytime?

Also i did find that you can install Opera Mini for the 8830 and use that as a browser if anyone can not get this to work.

Working on AIM, For now there is a free beta of BeeJive in the threads. It's an all in one IM app that has AIM WLM ICQ and about 3-4 others. Grab it while it's free. Normally 30 bucks.

thanks for your awesome post on getting everything up and running on the storm with tmobile.

I have one problem. It appears that i was able to get everything installed and get it tmobile working on the phone with EDGE in the upper right corner. The problem is that it seems to say "Activation Required" in the top of the screen. After following your instructions the browser icon disappeared. i can get to the browser through the menu bar and "switch application," but i get a message that states, "your device does not currently have any Browser configuration service book entries. Please contact your service provider to enable the browser on your device." I have sent service books from the tmobile website and i have changed the device pin and imei there as well.

i have not tested the email yet because i am on an enterprise server at work and i don't want to set that up yet if i have to reconfigure anything.

any thoughts?

Thanks,
dtedge

What your going to need to do is activate it under verizon to get rid of the activation required and then register the device with them and once you do that you will get the browser icon and app center and so on. this wont mess up anything with your t-mobile service. once you activate under verizon try out the service for a good day or two and then cancel the contract. you have a 30 day trial and if you dont like there service you wont get charged early termination fee. then you can switch back to t-mobile and everything should should work as in browser mms and email.

but if you update your the software you might lose the service book for the browser and you won't be able to connect to the internet. so you would have to repeat the process al over again
