This is a sweet offer. I never got the email but I called VZ today and my new storm 2 is on the way. The new contract is simple, it is just like renewing your contract. From the day you do the upgrade your contract now runs 2 years from that day.

Anyone have any idea how long this may last? I'd love to get myself a Curve 8530. Do you think this will make it to 11/20?

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Looks like Verizon is stepping up to the plate to make right with those who had a Storm 1 with all the problems, essentially allowing us to cancel our contract without an ETF and get a new phone with a new contract. I don't feel they should have to give me a free phone, as it was my decision to get a Storm in the first place, but I'm glad they are "splitting the difference" with me in this regard.

Please take the time to read the fine print in the screenshot of the email I posted in this topic. It appears that you can only get a Droid or a Storm2. The offer expires 12/31/2009 and you can only take advantage of it if you haven't upgraded in the past 180 days.

So I just called asking about this "early upgrade offer," and it seems as though it only went out to targeted customers. He specifically told me that you might want to wait a couple of days and then check back, so I will def do that which gives me time to go play around w/ the Droid

Hmm I called and had a nice chat with a rep today about this very promotion. She said I wasn't eligible until my one year upgrade in January. I didn't push anything. I was only curious about the conditions. She said she would follow up in December and that I was free to call back. That is all...

1. Did you have a Storm 1 before?
2. Were you still under contract and if so, how many months of your contract were left?

Yes I had the S1 til today.
My 2 year contract wasn't due to end til next year summertime(i think), my annual upgrade was due Dec 27th....so I got the early upgrade, signed a 2 year agreement and left the store only paying $179.99.

For the record I had the email on my BBS1 and the reps at the local Verizon store were shocked about the offer because no one knew about it. But seeing the email and what it said, the manager at that branch upheld the agreement and allowed me to do the early upgrade. The computer system was still showing an annual upgrade for December. So if you have the email please have with you when you go to your local stores.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was going to do. Going in tomorrow to get things straightened out, email in hand and on my device.
