However, would they have had the idea to call in the first place?
My sources say no.
For the record, I'm not an elitist, nor do I feel I am better than anyone, even if they let out their personal secrets they lack effort, and depend on others to solve problems...
Logic is the answer for all problems in this forum.
Hmm, I have an issue.
Issue?
My BB Storm is not working properly?
Hmmm, hardware or software related?
(insert said issue here:______)
Perhaps I should call the manufacturer, RIM.
Perhaps I should call Verizon.

Implement a forced search feature and I'll be more than happy to find another BB forum that doesn't have such a ridiculous rule. Wow, so people are posting about service books a lot or whatever, get over it. If you attitude is dictated by whether people repost a search or not, then you need to get a life, seriously. I'll even admit I had an issue with it previously when the Storm 1 came out. But after I realized this little thing called a wheel on my mouse which would scroll past the new duplicate post, I found my peace.

Consider server storage for duplicate threads and man power to manage said threads. Think broader beyond your little bubble.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | It's a huge business issue in that traffic to the site is a source of revenue. Anything that makes it harder for users to register and post is not an option. We have had heated internal debates over more aggressive spam-prevention measures that were not implemented for this same reason. If you want an elite forum that's heavily moderated and tightly structured, you are going to be frustrated here.

I posted the issue concerning Service Books as an example.
Scrolling past reposts (for you) is so fun...
My demeanor stems from people that do not want help themselves.
There is so much wrong with this issue and beyond I'm confident you're not grasping the concept.
Invalidating people's points of view simply because YOU find them petty is petty in itself.
It's simple.
We were all newbs at one point.
Even when I was a newb I still researched my issues first.
There is something commendable about a person who likes to problem solve on his/her own without resorting to a system of begging and ineptitude so craptastic it does nothing but pollute this great board with a repetitive form of spam.
I'd much rather prefer someone copy and paste, "Hi there. I've searched all over and couldn't find the solution to my issue, would you please help?"
The proper way to help the person IS NOT to post the answer.
THE proper way to help the person is by posting the proper way in finding
THE ANSWER.
Have you heard the little story about teaching a man to fish, instead of just handing him some halibut?
Yeah.

i agree with Jeff, i like that idea. i wonder with the new feature, searching using tags, if when creating a new thread the forum can automatically search for keywords tagged and show the user those threads.

Sometimes I feel like I'm beating up severely retarded children. | While we value skilled and intelligent members, we will not allow them to abuse those with lesser skills. Hopefully you can find a way to participate less violently! Otherwise, this may not be the best forum for you.
As I've posted elsewhere, it is always appropriate to give the answer to a specific question while explaining how to find the answer more generally. It's never acceptable to simply say "Search" without offering an example of a possible answer. I have not researched your posting history and don't know that you have been as unhelpful as your tone above suggests.

But seriously, how DO I get an MP3 on my computer to play as a ringtone on my new Storm? And where DID my browser go?

Sometimes I feel like I'm beating up severely retarded children. | Does your ego come to you by way of nature or nurture? I've seen some arrogance on these forums but you, sir, I dub ye King. And don't be proud of that.
OT: No, there shouldn't be a forced redirection to the Search function when creating a new post (whether one has 1 post or 4,000.) I've seen users with 1 or 2 posts provide highly technical information to assist other users, and they've done so without disdain. IMO this thread was started around the Droid dropped. Which was shortly after the S2 dropped. So, naturally, many users were running into similar issues and posting for assistance. The threads were being added so rapidly that, I imagine, it was fairly easy for duplicates to be posted. The brilliant decision to segregate the Android forums has served, without question, to reduce many inane threads. Additionally, as S2 users have gotten their feet on the ground there has been a further decrease in duplicate threads. I looked at the first page of the BlackBerry forums a few minutes ago and don't recall seeing duplicate posts on the same issue.
We all started in the same place. Some pick up on the technology more quickly than others. That's life. It's not an excuse to demean, belittle, and otherwise beat down another human being. This is a help forum first and foremost.
