Last night someone called me and I needed to take down another number.
I hit the button for memopad. I get to it, and I hit the button to go to the numeric keypad. It doesn't work. then I realize none of the keys work.
This specific issue had never happened before. However, it did happen when I needed it most.
This is why I am getting rid of this abortion as soon as possible. It is not reliable. It will work fine until I absolutely need it to work, then some nonsense bull bug will pop up and ruin things. None of the issues are easily reproducable so it is impossible to even prove they happen, but they aren't a figment of my imagination.

It's still as bad as it ever was I see! After countless upgrades, os updates, tweaks this phone is still unusable.
The other phones like the droid that are out at the moment blitz it! As does any other bb phone

My next phone will be Storm LTE (IFF RIM switches off the Java Platform and grants decent app memory) or the iPhone LTE (Hopefully with MSN and multi tasking by then)

As soon as xmas is over and my CC bill is down, I'm kicking the Storm and going Droid. I've said since day 1 that the browser is my #1 priority. RIM seems to think that the browser is an afterthought, which is very evident in 5.0 on both S1 and S2. I'm out.

Yes.. i am dropping the storm and bb.. working with verizon now to trade it out for a droid. I have never had such a poor expereince. A jitterbug phone beats out the storm. YOU CAN AT LEAST MAKE CALLS CONSISTENTLY and it is only 29.95.. since the upgrade i cannot synch and i am back to battery pulls.. Time for RIM to pass into the annals of history. they have missed the ship..

OMG... how many freaking OS' have we all had on our S1's and they STILL haven't gotten it right?! It's like RIM has the Marx Brothers as programmers.
BUT... the shills here will tell you that the Gold Code is right around the corner. "Just wait a little longer."
Yeahright.

I did a side by side of an S2 and my S1 running 4.7.0.167 and my browser OWNED the S2. Not even close.
Get a Droid or a Passion (or whatever it will be called.)

What I have learned from this experience is to NEVER be a 1st gen guinea pig for a company who never made a touch screen phone. With that said I was looking at the Droid and decided to wait until people had a chance to really play with it and fish out the real issues. Now that I have seen and heard the issues I want to see what the updates for that phone do to improve it. Nevertheless I am waiting for the HTC Passion which cant come out fast enough. The storm 1 is so bad I actually go without a phone because I cant stand carrying this phone for its numerous issues. Day after day I crave a release date for the Passion only to be denied like some crack addict going through cravings for more "stuff" but cant get it.
All my friends who have storm 1s all troll the net looking for information about phones we will move to and then email them to each other. Once I get an Android phone (that much has pretty much been decided) I am throwing my storm 1 into Lake Michigan and getting hypnosis to erase all thoughts and memories attributed to this abomination. Then I will register and praise the phone on phandroid.com, androidforums.com, or androidandme.com and NEVER LOOK BACK. RIM lost me with this phone, and I will not come back. RIM is like that gorgeous woman you see from afar.......beautiful on the outside, but be careful what you wish for when you get her home..........and see what was underneath all that beauty. Scary! |
could not agree with you more! this is the worst phone that i have ever put my hands on. i like the THOUGHT of being able to check my emails, browse the web, answer a phone call, text, listen to music, etc...(not all at once) without being so frustrated that id like to take the Storm 1 out hunting (it wont be wearing a bright orange safety vest, oops). I strongly dislike this phone (overall). i cant wait for my 2-year plan to be up (come on August!!!) and hopefully any bugs will be worked out of the droid or whatever smartphone will be out by then. i doubt ill ever touch a BB again, theres no need for RIM to have a hold on my sanity any longer. i cant have more than 5 apps on this stupid thing and even with just those 5 and nothing even running, i cant get a memory level above 20MB, EVER, not even right after a battery pull. worthless POS in my opinion.
