"Official" vs. "Beta" vs. "Leak", etc...
Alright, the language here is really starting to confuse people. I know, being "in the industry", that the .113 version that we have download (myself included) is NOT necessarily an official update. It could, even setting aside any problems we are or are not having with this release, be the official update today, tomorrow, next week, etc... But until VERIZON releases an OFFICIAL UPDATE for the 9530, we're continuing to work with betas / leaked versions of the software.
Maybe it's because I'm still a bit new to these forums, but I find a lot of people getting confused as to the meaning and usage of these words. Official Update = Verizon announced, we're on 4.7.0.75 right now. You can update your phone OTA (Options>Advanced Options>Wireless Upgrade). Leak or Beta = Somehow, someway, the CrackBerry users got their hands on some system software not released by the carrier, but is (usually) a higher version than the official version. Hybrid = A combination of different leaks or betas (by using COD files, etc.) that our fellow CrackBerry users have helpfully put together for use - usually to address problems in the beta software, in an effort to make a "better version" (thanks to those who contribute to this!)
Maybe this is a rant about the forum, or the users, and I'm going to get flamed. Maybe not ... But I don't care ...
