| | Ultimate Theme - Now works with 5.0.0.328 - still FREE UPDATED: Now works with 5.0.0.328 without having to use the "white bar" fix! 11/13/09 - All versions have been updated using Blackberry Theme Studio 5.0. OTA Links moved to below pictures.
The theme is still completely FREE, however, I will gladly accept donations (see link at the bottom of this post).
-------
I looked through a ton of different themes trying to find one that did everything I wanted:
1. 2 always-on icons for weather and MeterBerry
2. Lots of empty space to show off my wallpaper
3. Quick and easy access to 12 to 15 apps
4. 1-click to messages
5. Fast response time
6. No "ghosting" when switching back to home screen
I wasn't able to find anything that fit what I wanted completely (some were close, but not quite)... so, I made my own. This is my second theme (the 1st was a Windows Mobile theme that I wasn't really happy with).
The original version didn't have the Network Indicator. I didn't bother updating this for use with Blackberry OS 5.0. However, I'm leaving the picture up since it still basically shows what the theme looks like.
The old Network version is now just the "2 icon" version (basically replacing the original as the main version).

Let me know what you think (be nice ) and anything that might need fixed or changed. Enjoy.

Thanks for all the positive comments so far.
I just uploaded a new version with the incoming call text enlarged. Plus I added a dark transparent background to the hidden icons, so that when they appear there will be less chance of them clashing with the background.
dbone15, the icons are from a Windows 7 icon pack that was pointed out to me by jaxjon while I was working on my Windows Mobile theme. You can get it here: Windows 7 Icons For Vista & XP. A few of the icons I used were modified to suite my needs (like the various profile icons and the sms icon... and a couple others).

This theme is awesome!! Just a couple small changes maybe? On the home screen, click the time to get to clock. Click the date to get to calendar. Then you can click the battery/signal reader to get to messages as it seems you want to go that direction or could make it clickable to manage connections instead? I'm cool with it either way though.
This theme is just about the ultimate in my humble opinion. I love the color scheme, the icons, and everything else about this theme. Thanks!! And great work!!
btw: It does work fine on .151.

bseblman... setting the clock, calendar, and messages up like you suggested should work. I thought about making the batter/signal area be manage connections, but I never use that (ever), so I thought it would be a waste. However, having the clock, calendar, and messages all accessible is a good idea.
I'll make the changes sometime in the next couple days and upload the new version.
Also, thanks for letting me know it works on .151.
So... if anyone has any other suggestions, I'll consider them.
And thanks to everyone for the compliments... I'm glad the theme is liked.

Awesome!! I look forward to the upgrades. A couple more things I noticed:
1. I have Weatherbug as my 2nd icon, so it's on the main screen. Unfortunately, the icon isn't changing to show the weather (like partly cloudy today or moon now since nighttime in Ohio). It stays on the Weatherbug logo. The wording below the icon with current temp high/low does show up and change accordingly, so it's only the icon that doesn't change. Anyway to fix that?
2. The battery meter is showing 70% right now on the main screen, but when I check it under Options/Status, it's showing up at 60%. The Device Info. button through Quicklaunch says 62%, so it's close. Is there something that might affect the battery meter reading?
These are small items, but would help to make this indeed the most ultimate theme as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for looking into them.
Edit: The Weatherbug icon has changed to a moon on the main screen now. Not sure why it appeared all of a sudden, but it's there now. Also, battery meter is now at 60% on main screen, Quicklaunch Device Info., and Status. Guess it just updates by 10% increments. So guess there probably aren't changes to be made for either of those items. Sorry for bringing them up. Still weird about Weatherbug though. Have no clue why it showed up all of a sudden.
Finally, I think there might be a memory leak issue somewhere as my memory isn't as stable as it was with other themes. I haven't added/changed anything else today. I'm at 2.98 mb of memory after 5 hours 45 minutes of uptime. Usually start around 19 mb and stays around 12-16 mb most of the day. I have a truckload of apps but don't leave them on except for the ones I can't "turn off" and Leave It On, which I'm guessing causes me a trickle of a memory leak. Definitely wouldn't go this low after less than 6 hours normally though. Quote:
