Default Vlingo review

Hey what's up Crackberry family, ej25sti(Gabe) here, and i wanna do a short quick review of one of my favorite application Vlingo. i love Vlingo because sometimes when you're in a hurry, and wanna get things done quickly you can just push a button speak into the blackberry, and it'll do the rest.

Installing was a little different than other applications. with Vlingo you actually have to follow the process and instructions you can have it all working perfect.

i personally love the application because it brings the Blackberry to a whole new level. Let's say you're running late to a meeting but yet, you're not stuck in traffic, therefore you cannot text while driving, you can simply push the button and say: i.e "Send message to John Smith. Message. i'm gonna be arriving 10 minutes late." and it sends the message. but my all time favorite part of the application is the fact that it uses the Yahoo One Search function. so i can push a button and say " search American Airline Flight # 547. and it brings you the results very quick. i've never seen an application made for the blackberry that you can track Flight Status.

In Conclusion, this application in my opinion is amazing. it makes things much faster when you're on the go, and I think that you should all give it a try if you haven't yet.

As far as Pros and Cons, i have nothing bad to say about the application. i haven't had any problems with the app.

if you want more information you can visit vlingo and you can download it from your PC or Blackberry browser at www.vlingo.com/v2

I hope you guys liked my review. it's actually my first review ever. Thanks!

seems to be working very well for me and gets almost all phrases correct. I only use it while in traffic though. Otherwise I still find it faster just to open a window and type.

Hey,
I havent had my curve for a lng time, but love it and i am slowly figuring out all that can be done on it. At the time (due to being a poor college student) i do not have a data(internet) plan. Does this application use the internet at all? Will it cause me? I have unlimited texts but not data.

Loved the program on my curve. I had problems on the bold with it. Maybe I'll give it another try. Amazing feature to have.

I have used Vlingo on a curve and now on my Storm. Intially, there were quite a few problems, especially with T-Mobile. It would work well when on Wifi, but have trouble connecting via Mobile WEB. Also, it did a crappy job with voice recognition.

With the last two updates, however, they have made a lot of progress with both network compatibility and voice recognition. I use it a lot now and it's accuracy, at least for me, is better than 90%. Great when you can't type. And, when you take the time to correct the mistake is makes, it's accuracy improves.

The only problem I have with it now is that the GUI is not fully compatible with the Storm ... but that can be said for most BB apps at this point. Once they update the GUI for the Storm, it will be close to perfect (for me) especially given its current cost ... FREE.

You woudn't be the guy I see during my commute every morning who is dialing and texting on his BB while going 80 MPH during the morning rush hour, RU?

With VLingo, I am able to add appointments to my calendar, contacts to my address book, and send email and text without taking my eyes off of the road. These are things I do often, especially after receiving or making a call.

I have not mastered typing on my BB while at high speed in traffic. My other favorites are people who shave, read the newspaper, and put on eye make-up at speeds above 50 MPH.

Practice, practice, practice....I love this app - it is my right convenience key. It does have a learning curve. I think it will become a key component for the Storm in the near future. I can edit EXISTING MemoPad files with it, using copy & paste. Need to try it with Excel and Word documents. Would it not be cool to be able to just talk to your Storm WITHOUT ever touching or clicking its screen ?

I wanted to love this app, but I can only get it to work about 25 percent of the time, and it doesn't seem to want to work with some functions, such as tasks at all. I've also had a problem with my Storm rebooting after Vlingo gets hung up trying to understand a command. I'll retry it when we get an official Storm version.

I love Vlingo and can't understand why anyone wouldn't think this is the most insanely greatest BB app to ever come along.

I only have one complaint about Vlingo and I've passed it along to the Vlingo staff. I'm a big "Notes2Self" guy. I love this feature. But I don't want these notes going to my email. I want them to go to my Evernote account where they belong. All Vlingo needs to do to give me this ability is allow me to specify the email address I WANT to use for my Notes2Self. For some reason this is a problem for Vlingo. I wish they'd get this fixed.

Other than that, Vlingo is totally amazing and I'd give it a A+ as a BB app.
