Default Quick Review: AutoStandyby

Hello fellow CB'ers! This is a quick review of AutoStandby on my Bold, posted from my Bold! I know quite a few of you already have this app, but for those who don't, I hope you find this helpful

Simple.
Set it and forget it. After install the only option you have to set is "Enable AutoStandby" and you're good to go! To exit standby press the mute button. After the backlight shuts off, AutoStandby re engages...well, automatically
This doesn't mean you don't have options though...

Integrated.
AutoStandby installs directly into your main options. Here you can enable/disable the app completely, set it to disable when charging or connected to your PC, set how long after the backlight turns off before AutoStandby engages, disable when user defined apps are running (with some more advanced options), and set for standby only, lock only, or both. The phone comes out of standby when it rings and when you take it out of a sleeper holster.

Value.
This is an app that I use everyday but I don't see it everyday. After the options were set on the first install I didn't really think about it except for the impressive battery savings it provided. This actually surprised me because I use a holster with a sleep magnet and didn't expect to gain a couple hours worth of battery life! Lot of value compared to the cost here.

Pros:
Easy to use
Plenty of options
Battery savings
No pocket dialing
Looks/works like OEM

Cons:
Doesn't recognize some apps.

I highly recommend AutoStandby, especially for us Bold users!

I also appreciate and use it but I hate to see it has some interference with Flycast (it stops Flycast a couple of times attempting to enter in standby although Flycast is listed as disabling rule) and also stops Pod Trapper from working and enters standby. No reply from the programmers.

How does this differ from using the mute button? I press mute and it goes on standby...so why would I need this?

In fact, isn't it a disadvantage if it goes into standby only at a specific time during the day. What about when you put your phone in your pocket or on a table when not in use?

Like I said, I use the mute button to put in standby whenever I'm not using the phone and I have auto-off set at 1 a.m. and auto-on at 6 a.m. every day.

Seems I have more flexibility without sacrificing precious memory.
