do either of these programs integrate into the BBOS? particularly the address book. I like that with the AIM and MSN apps I can be at a contact and under the menu I can IM them using AIM or MSN.

Useful because I dont always remember which of my contact in my book use an IM app. I'd prefer IM over email and email over sms.

Both iSkoot and Nimbuzz import your BB adresbook in the app. For Skype (-out) only that would be useful.
Then you will find a list of IM contacts with symbol of the social network. You are always autologged in to those.

Default Using Iskoot to call from USA to UK

I'm still trying to figure this out. If I use Iskoot and "skype out" call internationally, do I just pay the "Skype" charge plus airtime , ie calling England is 2 cents per minute. Or do I get hit with Verizon, my mobile phone carrier, international charges too. I hate to try it as Verizon kills you on all international calls if you don't have a plan with them.

Thanks in advance for help here.

Dear Mods,

I think it is time for an official CB mods review for Nimbuzz.
In Holland make more than just cheese and wooden shoes
Nimbuzz won some award you should know about.

Nimbuzz Wins Prestigious Red Herring Global 100 Award | Social Networking Blog - SociableBlog.com

@TBob

You will pay: 1) local call to iSkoot server 2) Skype charges and 3) data usage. But most of the times that will be cheaper than simply calling international mobile phone numbers.
Check out Nimbuzz, I am a believer!

So if its calling a local number wherever you are, it should be only the cost of local minutes if I am anywhere in Canada (for me), but NOT if I am anywhere else. If I go into the US or anywhere else Telus would still charge me, I think, at least how I'm interpreting this since I don't have minutes in my plan for being in any other country. Since I would be dialing that other country's number still.

BUT I should be able to call to those other countries from within Canada for just the SkypeOut cost and local minutes? Since I'm still dialing a Canadian number. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong - I don't want to install it until I know how much it'll cost me.

No Nimbuzz for Verizon or BB Storm. Neither listed on the Nimbuzz website. I just checked on Nimbuzz link in this thread

Sounds great but not for me yet.

I don't know know if this helps but I have a Curve 8900 with UMA, iskoot for skype and I just made a call skype to skype call to my girlfriend in Brazil. I did it with the mobile network off and only using the UMA and free open Wifi from a cafe in Brooklyn.

Did you go to T-Mobile and check if it was billed ONLY as UMA minutes or billed at all? I believe they classify all your voice calls in your bill. If you turned off your cellular antennae and find out that (even if) it was billed as UMA (or not at all), I understand the logic that voice minutes would not be applied to the call. REALLY IMPORTANT to be signed up for unlimited WIFI calling then.

And quite possibly the greatest app ever. This is an exciting thread to read. I can't wait to get my hands on a tmo 8900.

In your set up somewhere you have to say the country you are in. Try Nimbuzz - Help: Forum, FAQ, Support for specific info.
