Here's an email I just sent to BSE. Not sure what's so "easy" about this product. Read on:
Hello.
I bought one of your skins for my blackberry 8900 about 2-3 weeks ago. It has sat on my desk since then, mostly due to my nervousness in attempting the application process on my own. So I had a few hours to spare tonight, and I thought I would give it a go. I started with the screen piece. It went on all right, after 3 tries. Thought it looked ok. So I moved on to the piece that sits below the keyboard. That went all right, too. Especially after the "palming method". And adjusting it back into place 4 times after carefully trying the palming method. There's still some white spots where it doesn't quite connect with the faceplate below the enter and alt keys, but I can deal with that. I moved on to the piece for the batter door. That was pretty easy, two tries and I got it. It looked much better after a lot of vigor using my license to get the air bubbles out. And that was even putting it into place slowly, starting from the bottom up. After that it was time for the camera piece. Looked great until I tried to palm it over the top of the phone. Palmed it for 30+ seconds and it still popped up. Oh, and then I had to readjust the piece that sits below the keyboard again. No big deal. I tried to palm it again for another 30 seconds. It still popped up. Oh, and I had to readjust the piece that sits below the keyboard. Again. I figured maybe I would let that piece dry a little and move on to the left side (as your looking at the phone, the one with the convenience key). Applied that slowly, got it in place. Oh, wait.... that piece that goes over the top is sticking up. I palmed that. Took my hand away to notice that, in palming it, the whole piece moved out of place. Along with the piece that sits below the keyboard. I've now tried paling that piece more than 10 times. The sides still stick up and it doesn't lay nicely across the top. Or the bottom. Or the part that sits next to the piece that sits below the keyboard. So I thought I would let that dry, similar to the camera piece. It's still drying, 45 minutes and 3 more palms later. I moved on to the other side of the phone. The one with the volume keys, the camera key and the micro usb port. After 15 palmings and several attempts at getting air bubbles out, etc, it is sitting in a similar fashion as it's brother on the other side. So I got frustrated to the point that I am just letting it sit, and I thought I would throw the battery in and write you guys about the fact that never before have I encountered a product that was so unbelievably frustrating to use. I powered my phone on, and wouldn't you know it. Some particles somehow got trapped between the skin and my screen. Not sure how that happened, but that's not your fault. I'm just more concerned with the fact that now I've probably scratched my screen trying to use a product that was designed to do just the opposite. I'm very pleased that I get to take the skins off now and try to clean off the soap/water/adhesive solution that I'm expecting to be all over my phone. I started this little project at 8 pm cst. I haven't been doing anything else except working on this. Please also note the time stamp on this email. (I wrote this at 10 pm. Yes, I'd really been working on this for 2 hours straight.) Oh weird... the piece that sits below the keyboard is out of place again..
