Just curious. I think they are only doing this in areas where there is 3G, right (or where 3G is going in)? So for those areas where there is only 2G service, how or why would they move the EDGE to a different band when there's nothing to fill the void on the abandoned band? While it sounds bad from this article, I'm curious to see some more real world reports before passing judgment.
To be honest, I'm not concerned about my own signal as the Bold is a 3G device, but I do sympathize with those who have 2G only devices. (And it makes me even more happy with my Bold purchase - the other option was an 8320.) I'm also happy to hear about this now, so if/when my family switches their phones to AT&T, I can recommend 3G capable phones only.
