I keep getting the above SMS. Is this spam? It started when I got my 8900, I never had this before?

Sounds like it, unless that's something from your carrier? Not sure. Did you send your phone back and get a refurb?

It could be something to do with the 8900, I see one person reported the issue also began with their 8900 and on another board someone else has the same issue. Any ideas?

I actually figured it out and will explain after I try it and make sure it works. So if anyone else has this problem, there is a posted solution.

Some T-Mobile devices have built-in email clients for AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo!, etc. There is an option to receive a notice for each email received. Since I never removed the notifications, they continued to be sent and BB doesn't have the ability to read them so they appear as spam. So the solution is to simply revert back to your previous device, and uncheck the "receive notices" option for each email acct and let it sync with t-zones/web2go. Then switch your SIM back to your BB and it's done.

I tested this and it works. Thanks and hope this helps someone out.

Default 104760000000

I had this problem, too. Call T-Mobile and ask for a BlackBerry Tech.
This is on T-Mobile's support forum:

If you are receiving unwanted text messages from the specific number +10476000000 please read this and follow these steps.

T-Mobile has several kinds of email systems. The email system used depends on what kind of phone you have. The strange messages you are receiving means you have email setup on one specific T-Mobile email system known to T-Mobile reps as "consumer email", but your sim card is no longer in a phone that supports "consumer email".

The quickest way to resolve this is to put your sim card back into your old phone. Remove your email account from the old phone. Once your email account is removed, the consumer email system will stop sending those messages to you. You can put your sim card back into your new phone.

If you no longer have access to the phone with consumer email (Samsung Blast, Motorola W490, Nokia 6263, Samsung Behold, and several others), please contact us. A T-Mobile representative can remove your consumer email account directly from the network.
