the 9800 is awful; the touchscreen takes too long to respond and the trackpad doesn't work as well as the 9700's. i thought they were the same but i notice a big difference; i have to really put effort to move the trackpad up on the 9800. it's overall much slower in doing anything and it won't open my stored html files properly like the 9700. half the page is cut off.
@huiman - I'm with you on the touchscreen delay, but I don't notice as big a difference in the trackpad. I did at first, before I uped my sensitivity, but now it seems pretty normal.
Hopefully a software fix is in the works for the touchpad response. I'm going to wait for the early adopters to vet this version before I upgrade in case I have to take mine back.
I agree. I think that's very annoying! How about touch screen lag? I've been experiencing some swipe lag from left to right and when I try to swipe up and down (with the main menu screen). Pinch to zoom seems a tad laggy for me too. Oh yeah, and has anyone noticed that new BBM notifications sometimes do not show up on the notification bar???
I hear a lot of people complaining about having to deal with the reloading/downloading of 3rd party apps. I've noticed with the new app world 2.0 that whatever you download from there, it will remember and the only thing you have to do after you load your new OS is go there and just DL all your apps back from the "my world" section. How ever, google maps is the only app I still have to download and install seperately from my apps in app world. Just my .02

Do I sense sarcasm in your response? I somehow don't think that's what RIM intended to happen. I'm certain this will be fixed in a future OS release. I have not tried .161 yet but I will load today.
im going to update it right now...weird..didnt have to delete any vendor files...right wen i downloaded it and installed it..it connected me to the blackberry desktop software..

diff than all leaked versions
I think you need to delete the vendor file only when it is not an AT&T update.
Who will be the first to put a beta OS on their new torch? Not me so I'm very interested in the results of this new leak. Please fix the tinny sound during calls. Everything else is just fine for me!
