Default OS 4.5 Won't load on 8700! Flashing Red LED

I was wondering if anybody was having problems installing OS 4.5 on the 8700c. Once the installation is complete and the handheld reboots, it goes for about 10 seconds, then reboots again with a red LED flash and will continue to reboot and flash the LED every 10 seconds until I remove the battery.

I have tried severel versions of the beta as well as wiping the memory of the handheld reinstalling a fresh copy of OS 4.5. It seems it just will not boot after upgrading or a fresh install.

Here is the latest version I tried. (8700AllLang_PBr4.5.0_rel52_PL2.7.0.55_A4.5.0.37)

If anybody out there can shed some light it would be appricated. Well for now, it's back to 4.2

Thanks!

Yes, take out the media card and see if that helps. Also, did you delete the Vendor XML file?

I would 2nd the media card glitch, pull the battery..remove the mem card, pop the battery in and see what happens.

Unhappy OS 4.5 Won't load on 8700! Flashing Red LED

Thanks,

I have seen the articles on the memory card issue, however there is no media card in the 8700.

I did a complete wipe with jl_cmder. and battery pull.

If you did this and it did not work, I don't know what to tell you. You may have to stick with the current released OS.

And to everybody else who suggest memory card, for future reference the 8700 does not have a option for memory card. Only 81xx, 83xx, and 88xx series do.

I have an 8700R and have been running 4.5.0.42 for about 2 months without any problems.
