Hey everyone! I hope you are all enjoying OS6 as much as I am on the 9700. There is one problem...memory leak, i keep checking an I have gone from 79.9mb to about 76mb. Obviously future builds will prevent this but is there a way to prevent it now or at least slow it down?

    Thanks

did it just do it once? or has it gone all the way down?

a loss of 3-4 mb could be from application data, browser cache and cookies. as well as emails and messages.

I wouldnt say its a leak unless its killing your memory way down and your battery at the same time.

That doesn't sound like a memory leak at all. That sounds like normal memory usage.

So far, removing social feeds has fixed my memory leak. I lost 20mb over the course of yesterday, in 5 hours today I haven't lost any.

I am also not running ANY 3rd party apps to get a real good idea of how solid this OS is, later this week I will start adding things one at a time.

I've gone from 70 MB to 20 MB in a matter of a day!. I think there's a huge memory leak on this beta os6.

Thats possible... I'm on Sasktel/Bell, and my battery life so far is excellent. I've been playing with my BB off and on all day and I'm still at 85%.

I'm having the same problem. Losing about 2.5-3mb per hour, no apps running in the background. A battery pull will help gain most of it back, but after a while the leaks continue.

I'm losing about the same amount each hour. Has anyone found a fix for this or is it just living with a leaked OS for now?

I am convinced it's the social feeds app. I'm going to find that COD and delete it. I"ve lost 50mb of memory over the course of today!

Yikes! Social feeds is more than one cod, if you go into application settings? in OS6 you can delete it out using the OS, then it does a reboot. That is what I did and its been much better since.

Consider yourselves lucky. This is after I deleted Social Feeds and re-booted my phone.
Apps I have installed: SmartWiFi, MeterBerry, Call Counter, BeWeather...

Nope...I have the same problem on my ATT 9700. Will probably get better with future builds. Plus if my phone is not self rebooting due to low memory, I am not worrying about it.

I have NO 3rd party apps installed right now, and in 12 hours I've only lost 2MB (using the browser a lot, and BBM, and messing with the new OS)...

Is it possible that some of the apps people are running aren't optimized for OS6, and consequently are bleeding memory?
