How to correlate email message on device with BES server state database?

Does anyone know if there is a way to obtain the "ReferenceID" from an email on the blackberry device? I'm using BES 4.1 for Lotus Domino and need to build an application to allow the user to retrieve an archived message. I have been able to get the Headers from the Message object and display them on the screen. None seem to correlate with the State database.
