Default Getting Into Blackberry App Development

I'm a regional manager for a steel company and travel 3-4 days a week all over the Southeast and am interested in finding a new hobby/ extra income idea.

I'm amazed at all the different type tools, apps and themes that people here at Crackberry and other sites put out.

So, if you were looking to get into this and do it right, maybe get good enough at it where you'd look to get your "product" or "designs", "apps" out there, where would you start?

Any suggestions? Anything I need to know? I'm very serious about this, and hope this gets taken fairly seriously.

Thanks!! Take care...

Default Great article on BB development

The following article is essential reading for anyone interested in getting into BB development. It has been much talked about in the blogs and such:

An Experiment in BlackBerry Development: Lessons Learned Writing PodTrapper

I would add that while App World seems to be the top distribution point now, you may want to start out with MobiHand because you don't have to put up $200 upfront. You'll get a sense of whether your app will be a hit before spending the money.
