Default Wait for Storm 2 or ...

Well, I'm just about at the "New Every Two Window". In two weeks I plan on trading in my old old Palm Treo 700p and replacing it with a Blackberry. I'm pretty sure I want the Storm but with the Tour comming out and the Storm 2 out there without a release date, I wanted to get an idea of what "everyone else" would do.

Close my eyes and get the Storm

Wait on the Storm 2

Go with the "safe bet" and get a Tour

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I personally love my Storm but I'm the type who wants the newest and best...with all the problems people sseem to be having with the original Storm (I had minimal) your best off waiting....now wait for the Storm 2 or go for the Tour? I don't know lol

I don't know the exact details around the Storm 2, but if it's still the same OS, they've got to give the thing much more juice in the CPU department. I really like using my Storm, if it wasn't so much for the lag I experience.

I expect that when I type anything on any device, I don't have to wait for the device to "catch up" to what I'm typing. Really that's my real pet peeve with the Storm.

I suggest you wait. You then have to ask yourself how strongly you feel about a touch screen. Definitely play with various models at a VZW store. Folks sometimes make a decision based on specs. Nothing like a hands-on test drive.

Other threads that might help:

Should I get the storm or wait for the storm 2??

Will you buy the Tour, or wait in favor of Wifi?

Should I get the storm 1 or wait for the storm 2

Should I Wait For Blackberry Storm 2

New to the BB world. Worth it to wait on the Tour?

wait for storm 2 or any other new blackberry for that matter?

.

Get a Storm, try it out for the 30 days, if you don't like it, return it and get the Tour.

Do the Storm 1 on a 1 year. I love the device and came from a Treo 700wx. you have to put some apps on it to make it more functional, but now it is runnning and functioning just the way I expected.

Default well what i do is...

personally i love my storm.. however.. that doesnt mean she's without her flaws. the sure press screen is without a doubt my most beloved feature of the love of my life.. with that said; with there still being questions on the actual feel of the storm 2 (i.e. true press) and the tour not having a touch screen at all, your really talking about 3 very different devices.. if solely based on the way you will physically enter information.. i'd wait until i could at least get my hands on all three.. hope that helps

If you want a keyboard get the Tour, if you want a touch screen get the storm. Now if you want to wait; storm 2 then (might be a long wait)

Thanks all. I think I am willing to deal with the virtual keyboard. I'm not that fast or accurate on my Treo so I may not be trading off much speed. I know I hate using .my kids ipod touch but I should be able to get used to it. I know how painful it was to go from my Palm TX to the small screen on the Treo. It will be nice to have a big screen again.

After watching that wirefly or whatever it's called video for the tour I'm going that route. That phone is fast and I am so over the the touch screen non-sense. My vote is for tour.
