*** If you don't know what you are doing in registry editor then I suggest you use caution when changing settings and only change what I suggest.

    Option 1:
    open run command.

    Must be admin.
Right click and run as administrator on vista/7. XP give your account admin rights for this instruction.

    Type: %windir%\system32\regedt32.exe

    Navigate to key

    \HKey_Current_User, which is aka HKCU

    \HKCU\Software\Research in MOtion\Blackberry\RAS

    Set visible to 1

highlight visible, then go to edit permisions.

    Click advanced

Remove check box "Include inheritable permissions from this objects parents.

Remove all names from list, but DO NOT click apply or ok!!!!!

    {
Click add and type "Everyone" and push enter.

    Click Read control only.

    click "OK"
    }

Repeat previous steps in brackets and type "System" as the name.

    Click Apply and Ok.

    and Ok.

All key's should disappear inside RAS

    Run BB Desktop Manager

Now if someone could give us the settings for an IP modem connection we can use.

    Option 2:

    Disconnect BB from computer.

    Run BBDM

If Ip modem is visible, click on it and go to the next menu.

If not, close BBDM and open regedit to the following key

    \HKCU\Software\Research in MOtion\Blackberry\RAS

    Set visible to 1

    Minimize regedit

Open BBDM, click on IP Modem

Go to regedit and refresh the current visible key by clicking on another folder on the left then returning to the RAS key

    Set visible to 1

This will allow you to use your BB as an IP modem, but I don't have any settings to be able to connect to a server.

Now if someone could give us the settings for an IP modem connection we can use.

Spent over an hour to find this. It works (as far as adding IP Modem), haven't checked tethering capability yet but anyway I can stick it to AT&T I will (they add bogus charges all the time to my bill).

Once you click on IP modem, and click to add a new profile you can go back to regedit and give yourself permission to write to the RAS key and then add the profile, save all your work, then go back in and remove the RAS permissions to write again.

What about using the settings from the ##000000 menu? That lists IP settings, and the user id and password.
