If you rest your finger on the screen should you be able to slide the whole screen around? I understand the whole thing is one big button that clicks, but should it be a secure button? I love the device otherwise, but i almost feel like the screen might be too lose.

    In short, yes.

    It needs to click down-

As well as click at an angle so that the corners of the screen can properly depress down as a button.

Yea, but I think if you have a well built one with little gap it will wobble much less. My first phone had hardly any movement to the screen at all. My new phones have a bunch of give to it.

My phone didn't do this as much when I first got it, but lately it has developed a pretty good "wobble".

Not normal. I service 9530's all day and this is considered a hardware defect by Verizon. I have had a few customers with this issue and Verizon will issue you a replacement if your screen is loose.

My first phone would wobble a lot, gap size was pretty big, you would be able to see the inside a lot. My replacement phone barely wobble's and the gap is really small, maybe the newer ones were upgrade screens with smaller gaps.

Its normal to wobble slightly because of it being a button.
