Default screen display issue....

Sitting at home surfing the net today on my storm, suddenly the screen froze, and held there for a few minutes. So, the simple fix came to mind - remove the battery, etc. The phone restarted and now the screen is on (I can see the screen is illuminated), but it's completely black. I gave it a decent amount of time in case it was an ultra long reboot, nada. Tried the battery trick again, leaving it out for 30 mins, still nothing. The phone works as I'm still getting calls and texts, just can't see from who. Any ideas?
