Default How much free memory do you have?

My file free memory is now at 15080832. It has been dropping since I brought it home this morning and I am not even using it much, just charging it!!!!
It started over 40. Does anyone else have this issue, if it even is an issue?
What should it settle in at? CX?

Too much porn downloaded? Oh, sorry, that doesn't use file memory.

Are you not closing your programs that you are using?

Have you downloaded programs today? Have you done a battery-pull reboot since you did?

I initially was scared about my memory going down since I came from a Pearl (memory leak galore) but mine is 40mb +/-2 whenever I have checked it since. After I left the store immediately after purchasing/activating was when it was lowest, almost under 30.

So do a battery pull and report back.

I have around 40. My pearl had the problem where it would always drop down to 8 after an hour.

mine keeps fluctuating from 7.5 mb to 9mb. I don't even have that many programs installed.

edit: just did a battery pull and I now have 35.4mb (that is freaky)

Mine will drop from 38 down to 19 or so after being used for a while. Anytime I make a battery pull it brings it back up to 40.

Most of us are looking under settings / status but applications under memory gives you the same data

I have about 48 or 49mb free after a battery pull. I'm still hoping the new OS (whenever it is released) takes away some of the lag.

Programs removed: VZ navigator, visual voicemail

Programs installed: Opera mini 4.2, google talk, bbalerts, soft reset, google mobile app, google sync, gmail app, google maps, autolock

You are experiencing a memory leak. I have the same issue. I made a memory leak post a few days back and someone told me that every time rim releases a device, it has this issue. You would think they would have this figured out by now.

Obviously theres a memory leak. Some devices have more than others. I would suggest clearing your web history, cookies, and cache. I would also delete any emails or SMS messages you don't need. Also in landscape hold 123 for number lock>then press "/"/ which will bring up the event log. Then press menu>clear log. After you clear the log and get back to the home screen, pull the battery for 30 seconds and replace it. I know a leak sucks. And regardless of how many 3rd party applications you have installed, this shouldn't be a problem. Just try to regularly do what I suggested above. Updates will come and the memory leak will get addressed.
