Default Are the hardware problems resolved with current Storms?

I was wonder if the defects that were common with the first Storms are still common? Like Muffled voice, dropped calls, dust under screen etc...

Thanks

I think so, but then again, I've never had any hardware problems. My personal opinion is that this phone does not like to be carried in a pocket (also known as a lint trap). Some phones are fine there, but with this big, movable screen, I don't think it's a good match. Get a holster. Again...this is just my opinion.

If you can't afford the insurance, you should buy a cheaper phone.

I keep mine in a holster, no dust, no muffled calls, no problems with dropped calls.

Muffled calls ... not since .065 and the speaker was cleared.
Dust under Screen ... depends on your environment
Dropped calls ... hadn't heard that was problem. Maybe in 0.65

The muffled call problem, where to the other party it sounded like you were talking through a paper cup was intermittent & common also with .75. Some explained it away as function of noise cancellation and being in too quiet of a place. I had this and at times I could not be heard at all.

The reception issue I had with my second Storm. Sometimes 5 dropped calls in a 30 minute period. I thought I had read other complaints of this.

The dust issue I never experienced since I didn't have the phones long. I got rid of both phones before the 30 days were up.

I've had my Storm since March/April, keep it in my pocket all the time and save for a few random specs (which I only notice in the right light), I don't really have any dust under my screen, but I still see enough folks complain about it that I'm not sure the issue has been fully resolved--probably more a case that some are just better than others.

My mom's husband has had his since around December, always uses a holster, and has considerable more dust in his than I do...for what it's worth.

I bought the storm in April(built in march) and had it replaced b/c the camera would not turn on. My 2nd storm (refurb) had a very loose screen and the muffled sound issue and just went back. My 3rd was built same time as the first and seems perfect so far. No issues at all. All 3 made in Mexico. Guess it just depends.

I got mine not quite a month ago ... I love it! I didn't find crackberry until after I got my storm and when I got here I got a little freaked out over the problems some people say they've had. I feel very lucky that so far mine works just great.

well i'm on my 5th Storm. My first was worked fine, just i dropped it 18 too many times. the three b/n i handed right back to the store employees due to shoddy manufacturing one way or another. so far my current one is treating me well but i have noticed that the screen mechanism is wearing out fairly quickly and making alot more noise than it originally did.

I am on #5 only because of the muffled calls. This only occurs on outgoing calls. I am hoping for one that works correctly and I am running .148. The version has not made any difference.

I just had my first issue with screen clicking in the corners so I called and they sent me a replacement. I'm not sure if it is a refurb or new, probably refurb. But once I switch over to it I'll let you know if it is any better.
