Default Gmail issues with BIS...(tried search)

I tried searching...no luck.

When I read new mail in inbox, it isn't shown as "read" on my PC in Gmail. Also, when I delete mail from my PC in Gmail, it isn't deleted on my BB. I have enabled IMAP. My POP is enabled...I have disabled it now and will wait to see changes. Please help. Thanks!

Ok, I literally just did this myself.
First, make sure you have enabled IMAP in Gmail.
Second, through your Storm's Browser goto: BlackBerry Internet Service
Third, go here and follow these steps through your Storm's Browser: https://mail.google.com/support/bin/...y?answer=78882 Start at #5

*I had to delete my email address from the BIS site and start over because it was originally setup for POP.
** After some initial tests, reading/deleting emails on my Storm does so in my Gmail account. Conversely, reading/deleting emails in my Gmail account have yet to update on my Storm.
*** When sending emails from my Storm, I no longer receive the sent email as a new message on my Storm but it does show up on my Gmail account in the Sent box AND the Inbox (As a delivery confirmation; wait nevermind about that confirmation. Forgot to change setting on my Storm)

So is this what I'm supposed to do?

It's what I did and it is using IMAP as far as I can tell. I don't see how it could use POP since it is disabled and IMAP is enabled. All my BIS settings are for an IMAP account as well.

Why would I need to do step 2 & 3 on my storm as opposed to my PC?

Through my PC, I was unable to log in to the BIS website. But when navgating to the BIS website through my Storm, no login is needed.

No no, not your BIS account. Once you've logged into the BIS site with your Storm, delete your Gmail account in there and re-add it using these steps: https://mail.google.com/support/bin/...y?answer=78882. Start at #5

Thanks man...works so far. I wouldn't have to setup a filter now that I'm on IMAP right?

Not needed. I'm going to repost all the steps in a new thread for easier access. Glad everything's working!

This should at least be a sticky...unless there's something similar out there. I tried a search but the search brought up things like "Rogers mobile gmail setup, etc....it threw me off guard.
