you are hitting or holding the space bar to long. If you hit space 2 time it puts the period and begins a new sentence, just like proper grammar and punctuation is.

In a nutshell, when you hold a key, it is the rate at which the key repeats. For example, set key rate to fast, type a sentence and then hold delete. It will delete fast, set the key rate slow and try the same thing, you will see the difference.

Same thing as the cursor speed on a computer

Ok so it has nothing to do with typing speed? I also noticed random caps when I turned it up. Thanks for the info

it does have to do with typing speed. It will tie into the other 3 settings that deal with it. If you type slower, chances are your fingers are on the keys longer so if you have a jacked up keyrate, it will happen more often. If you type fast you can get away with it since your fingers are not on the keys as long. And the hover and tap interval do have effects on that.

Play around and you will find a happy medium im sure.

Does somebody know how to speed up the showing of "special characters" when typing? For instance, in German, when I need the letter "ö", I have to hover over "o" for a few seconds, until it shows up. I would like to cut this waiting time short, if possible...
