Hello all. I just got BB Bold, and i am new user.
I really like it and it makes me feel different by using BB.

Anywho, I got some e-mail with Reals Player files.
    I cannot open them!!
Is there away to open the Real player files on the BB?

    I really hope yes

I hope so, but I dont think so. I think the only media player for the bold is the one that comes with it. I know it plays mp3's and video in mp4 format. Probably lots of other formats too, but those are the only ones I know of right off.

There is no way to play RA and RM files on the bold currently. RM files are associated to a specific brand of software player. You can only play generic / standard format media files.

    What's different/new about 3gp profile 2 (from the regular .3pg)? just curious.

Yeah, unfortunately real media files won't play on the bold. It's been a _long_ time since I've used Real Player but you may be able to convert the real audio files to mp3 files within the program (barring drm of course.. thou why u would get non-drm real audio these days is beyond me! :P lol). That or you can burn the files to an audio cd and then re-rip them to mp3 .

It's rather involved process if you have lots of real media files to convert, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

There may also be.. programs to strip the real drm off the tracks, which i see no problem with if you paid for the songs. It's kind of a legal gray area thou, as you should be allowed to convert songs you bought to other formats to play on your own devices; however, the fact that you have to circumvent copy protection to do it is a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act . Is the RIAA likely to bust down your door for converting music you've paid for? no, but it's still a legal gray area as far as exercising fair use is concerned.

Danman, thank you very much for that. Good stuff which I will retain. I didn't see anything regarding h264, 480x320. Did I miss that?

Youre right its not on the list but it should be.

If anyone can add to this list anything else that may be missing, that would be great.
