I was wondering if I cud swap the bold camera + flash with that of the curve 8310 .

The camera on my bold sucks + the flash is yellowish and pisses me off as the picture quality is really really bad.
So I was wondering that since both the bold and curve use the same camera is it possible to swap it?
Iv got a curve lying around and wanted to do this.
Any input tutorials howtos etc would be greatly appreciated ..

Are you saying the color of the light from the flash is yellow or just that the led looks yellow? My led is yellow looking but flashes white.

Ditto. The way the flash LED looks is kinda meaningless.

my flash emmits a yellow light.... i know that it looks yellow by default.
also i think my fone has a bad flash led hence want to change it.

Actually this is a very good question regarding swapping of the camera lens.

Although I personally don't think its possible. I would like to see if anyone has any input on this.

I wondered this myself. I would think it may be possible to swap from the 8900 to the 9000.

Ok maybe I don't know at all if it will work, but I guess its more of a hope. Don't think it would be that difficult, but I don't have the $ to possibly break two NEW phones :P

maybe you have a defected camera dude...

my bold has a great camera and takes the clearest and most vivid pics ive ever seen for a 2.0 mp cam and my flash is very white by the way..

i would return that phone and get another one..

and no you cant change the camera out for a curve camera... but nice try

I wouldn't be creating this thread if I had the option to return my bold.
I purchased my bold overseas so no way to return it.

Can I atleast purchase a camera (OEM for bold) from somewhere and then change it?
I really want a white flash badly!!

But.....it may be possible. If I can get my hands on two donor phones, I'd def try it out. Wiring is wiring.

It shudnt work. Well if it did, in the camera app, your resolution will still read 1600x1200 since the bolds OS would never read out 3.2megapix.
Do the cameras fit in the same size? Maybe cnn.cn will start acrrying

Its probably possible but it would be risky to try bcuz it would also be easy to damage both devices.

No, it's not possible to swap the Curve 8900 camera into the Bold 9000. The
Curve uses a larger square shaped camera. Also, the software on the Bold
would not be able to accommodate the additional pixels, as well as the
autofocus function.

Why don't you replace the midplate. Isn't that where the LED is for the flash?
