Did you use the service books I provided, and did you remove the browser module manually or with the browser tool? Also what pc os are you running?

Great thanks I'm trying to put a simpler walk through together. If you don't mind I may PIN you if have more questions. And you don't recall doing anything different the second time?

pl sure no problem would be glab to help in any small way. Thanks for your efforts wiht this.

I actually thought your way was easier, and required? for someone running vista.
only suggestion would be to put it all in one post but i thought instructions were clear.

Please Go To HowTo:Get All Features (Browser, MMS) Working on T-Mobile w/Unlocked Bold *Revised* For The Current How To Instructions. Also See These Popular How to Threads.HowTo:Get All Features (Browser, MMS) Working on T-Mobile w/Unlocked Storm 95xx
HowTo:Get All Features (Browser, MMS) Working on AT&T w/Unlocked Storm 95xx

STEP BY STEP HOW TO

Here is what you need:
Download and unzip ONE of the T-Mobile Generic Service Books
(Thanks for the help HondaDNA)
***NOTE: The Service Books containing AIM are proving to be unreliable. Some have had success but most are getting either a working browser or AIM, Not both. I'm looking into the cause***

Download and install CrackUtil
CrackUtil.zip
What is CrackUtil? Warning/Disclaimer

SPECIAL CRACKUTIL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MICROSOFT VISTA USERS ONLY
For Microsoft Vista, an additional step is needed after installation on all versions.
Right click on the CrackUtil icon and scroll to Properties. Select Properties and then on the next panel, select Compatability and then click Run this program as an administrator. This only need to be done once right after installation.
Note the check in the Run this program as an administrator box. This only has to be done once. This procedure needs to be repeated for the program javaloader.exe which resides in the C:\Program Files\CrackUtil. Thanks Pete6!

*****ATTENTION VISTA USERS******
It seems many of you are having difficulty getting Vista and CrackUtil to play nicely together. If you have followed the extra step for Vista users above, and are still having issues such as "Access Denied", you need to follow these alternative instructions. You still need the Generic service books above. Once downloaded, unzip by right clicking on the zip file and select extract all. You will also need a copy of your Bolds operating system installed on your pc. You can find the os version you have by going to options>about on your Bold. For most of you it will be v4.6.0.167. If so you can download it here,https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4 Once downloaded, launch to install to your pc. Next right click on your desktop and select to create "new folder". Now go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\{Your OS Here}\Java. Locate the module net_rim_bb_browser_daemon typically in the fourth row down. CAREFULLY right click on it and select cut. Close the window, open the folder you created on your desktop and paste the module into there. Close the folder. Now open Desktop Manager and run Application loader Add/Remove. The module will be removed. Once that is successful move on to step #2 (below) to load the T-Mobile service books. When that is done, open the folder you created on the desktop. Right click on the module and select cut. Return to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\{Your OS Here}\Java. Right click and paste the module back to it's original location. Close the window and again open Desktop Manager and run Application Loader Add/Remove. At this point you will have a working browser.

****** If you are on BES, Follow the guide BEFORE setting up on the BES server. If you have already done so. You'll have to either remove the device from the server, or from the server have them disable all the wireless sync options for your account. To do so, in BES, right click on the respective user, go to properties, and then the PIM sync tab. Uncheck wireless.*****
Thanks, NaviWilliams

__________________________________________________ ________________________________________________
Connect the Bold (and leave connected throughout the procedure) to pc and open CrackUtil. Select the File Manipulation Tab, then Retrieve File Listing. Scroll down until you see the module net_rim_bb_browser_daemon And select "Remove File From Device".You will likely get either an Exception or Uncaught Exception Error Or Grid Index Out of Range at this point. That's normal, ignore and continue.

Exit CrackUtil.

STEP #2

Now open Desktop Manager, go to Backup and Restore, advanced.
On the left hit file and open the service books you downloaded and unzipped. Hit the button in the middle to transfer them to the Bold.

STEP #3

Close Desktop Manager and open CrackUtil. Again in the File Manipulation Tab, select "Load File to Device" to replace the net_rim_bb_browser_daemon module. Exit CrackUtil. You can now disconnect from pc. You should have a working Browser now. Resend service books from T-Mobile to get your email service books. Also you need tcp configurations in Options > Advanced Options > TCP. APN should say wap.voicestream.com Nothing under user name or password. If all is working well, create a back-up to prevent having to repeat this procedure.

I realize this is a bit technical so you can PM me for more help.

I will be trying this tonight. If it doesn't work I'll probably be getting very little sleep.

Does this method work with a blackberry internet service (BIS) or do I have to get the Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES) plan for it to work?
