It does exist. It's called SignalLoc and is a wonderful app. And it's free! Google that. It locates cell towers as you move about and saves them on your device for future reference, if you wish. It will also plot them on a map using google maps or bbmaps. Just a great app. Let us know what you think!

Couldn't find the program. Is there a Crackberry rule against your posting the URL?

I used signalloc with a Verizon phone. Unlocking or unbranding had nothing to do with it. I suspect you are thinking of another thread posted in the last couple of days. It talked about using signalloc in conjunction with other tools to force your phone onto a particular tower or service. I believe that technique required unlocking your phone. Signalloc by itself does not, or at least, did not when I was using it.

yea that was my thread. i was showing people how they can manually select another tower in their area in the engineering menu. but i was also showing how signal location utility will show you on a map where that tower is.

Which application is that which shows you the towers on the iPhone?

Also, is there any reason why my Signal Lock only gives the option to show the cell tower some of the time, not all of the time?

Signalloc is the one I was writing about. I'm not familiar with the other two apps.

I don't have a clue what app the iPhone uses, i was just saying my friends who own an iPhone are envious. The reason it doesn't show location all the time is sometimes the app gets hung up and doesn't display the coordinates
