hi guys..new to this site ..am planning to go in for a blackberry and my carrier only offers the Bold and the 8900..which would you guys suggest as the phone to buy coz i really cant seem to make up my mind..thanks guys
I sell both of these devices, I personally use the bold and I absolutely ADORE it! One of my best friends has the curve 8900. Te screen resolution is slightly better on the curve 8900 than on the Bold, the processor is even a little faster. The bold has a slightly larger form factor over the 8900 (which I personally prefer) the biggest deciding factor for me, was the 3G - The bold has it and the 8900 does not.
Both phones are awesome and I have seen very few issues with either device.

Actually the Bold has got a 624 MHz processor while the 8900 use 512 MHz. I think what you meant is that 8900 has got more app-memory than the Bold.
I used my friend's 8900 for a little while and found it to be running a little slower than the Bold. It lagged a little here and there.
As for the screen, its true that the 8900 has got a higher resolution but Bold has already got an excellent screen which is also bigger. This makes it better in opinion.
The only thing I really envied about the Curve is the camera. The difference between 2.0 and 3.2 megapixels is like day and night.
All in all, with 3G I consider the Bold to be the true Blackberry handset while the 8900 feels more like a toy in your hand.
I agree with ebedoun... I don't know if you spend alot of time on your phone, but if you do, you will quickly grow to appreciate the ability to IM, email, and play THK3 while sitting on long calls!
thank u ..what i didnt want to was to be caught out when Airtel did offer 3G and then i would again have to buy another phone as we dont have any phone along with a plan system like they have in the US and Europe ..so i would have to go in for a new phone all over again...basically most of the replies seem to be that the Bold is better so will take all ur advice ..thank u guys

Hmm.. what features do you need actually? If you're a gadget-freak and not-so-a-narcistic person, then, go buy a Bold. It has a 3G --superfastconnection-- Remember, the camera gets better on Javelin, not Bold.
The screen of Javelin is clearly larger than Bold's.
In my opinion, I like the form factor of the bold over the 8900. Its more spaced out and has a larger screen which definately comes in handy. The 3G is also a plus.
