Default Blocking a caller

Here is my dilemma

I work rotating shifts and I have a friend who always seems to call me when I’m trying to get some sleep. I don’t want to call the phone company and have his number blocked but I would like it if when he called…his calls went strait to voicemail and I could return them at my convenience.

I also do not want to use Bedside mode because sometimes my Wife or Daughter’s school may need to call me in an emergency.

In the address book edit the persons entry. Hit the BB key and go to add custom ringtone and then select MUTE as the ring tone. It won't go directly to VM but at least it wont ring and wake you up.

Hey that's a great idea...I looked into youmail and Handango's Black and white but I think I will do this.

Thanks

You could also try CallsBlocker by Fabien. It's a free app and it can block Unknown and Private numbers etc.

Hey for CallsBlock - what does it say / do to the blocked person who calls?
Do they get a recording saying their number was blocked, or does it go to my VM directly, or what?

Edit: I tested it with my work phone. The call goes straight to a recording that says "...your call can not be completed as dialed..."
My phone didn't even ring. Pretty sweet!
