Default Problems with Mass Storage Mode

Whenever I connect my BB to my computer, and try to put it into mass storage mode, and try to open the E: Drive (The drive with the BB on it, for sure.) I just get a message saying that there was nothing found in the E: Drive, even after I clearly saw it just pop up, because I plugged in my BB. Can someone help me with this problem?

Do you have a Media Card in your BlackBerry? Mass Storage Mode only works with a Media Card, not device memory in older devices such as your Pearl.

is your blackberry locked? if so you must unlock it before plugging it into your computer.
