You both deleted the VOD files.
Restore them and you'll get the About screen back.

Thanks, though I believe you meant VAD (voice activated dialing). I found some additional info about this in the CrackMem thread. Apparently, when VAD is deleted, it causes some error that prevents the About menu from working properly on any OS above 4.3. It also said that you can check most of the info that is on the About screen by holding ALT and typing EACE.
wondering why my phone isn't updaeting through desktop manager. I have 4.7 DM loaded and the new 8130 loaded. I did delete the vender file. Any help???? first time this has ever happen to me. I'm currently runing 4.5.0.131 PF 3.4.0.25

After using this for almost a full day now, I haven't really noticed much difference between this version and .131. I have noticed that I am not experiencing that lag when the phone comes out of sleep mode after being idle which is worth the update in my mind.

No problem. I found some of the info under the "Crackmem V2.x released" thread (cannot post link b/c I have less than 10 posts).
It is discussed in post #311 on page 21. It is also mentioned in post #536 on page 36. From this info, it appears that it does not mess anything else up, but I am not 100% certain.
I am having issues that others stated above. Desktop Manager is not recognizing as any changes. I currently have .131
I even tried just running the Loader from the AppLoader Folder

Well i to the loader that came with the software. For some reason desktop manager wouldn't load it even knowing it was listed and it checked it.
So far it's been running smoothly. Didn't see any increase in memory, i went from .131 to .138. The lag isn't has bad as before but still there. I'll keep this on my phone for now

I've downloaded it twice and get the same error when I try to install the OS. "Error reading setup initialization file." Can someone share a working .exe?
I have been running this OS for about 2 weeks and have noticed a large memory increase. I went from maybe 9mb on average to maybe about 12mb. Os is solid

I downloaded and installed it yesterday with no issues whatsoever. Sorry that I can't help with a workaround since I didn't have any problems.
The OS seems leaner to me, I'm starting out with over 16MB of file free after a restart and the free memory isn't gobbled up as quickly as with .131. Man I hope that this is an indicator of a better and more stable OS for the 8130.
I'm having problems installing. It goes through the backup process fine, but then when it reboots the phone the reboot happens once or twice where it says "Connecting to boot ROM"
Then all of a sudden "Unable to complete the loading opertion"
The error I get is "Unspecified error encountered [A:0x00000001]"
I am using an 8130 from Verizon (it's ESN)
I successfully installed the sprint OS 131 before, so not sure what's going on here?
Edit: Not sure what happened, the backup failed, phone software was erased, but then I successfully installed the new OS. I don't mind too much though because google sync has me covered for contacts/calendar and the apps took no more than 10 minutes to download and set up.
