I don't know if this has been confirmed, but someone reported the cnn.cn keypad is not identical to the VZW 8130 keypad and does not fit.

This case looks great compared to the VZW silver, but the keyboard does not work.
I believe it is an issue with the CDMA vs. GSM models, the radio for the VZW and Sprint models is under the key board which requires a recessed keypad, the one that comes with the gray case is not recessed.
Anyway that is kind of a long winded answer.
Now if anyone can come up with a keyboard that will work with this case I can get rid of the ugly VZW silver.

Omg!!.....that blows, Ive been wondering if it was possible to replace the screen for my pearl(dont ever put ur keys and ur BB in the same pocket!!), and this cover looked like it wouldve been the answer.....until I read the following posts.

Get the Pink 8130 if you don't like the silver, Even though I think the silver looks classy. You never know you just might get picked up by one of the boys?

cnn.cn just put a bunch of new colors and housings on there site. I have alltel and i want the black housing and the gold keypad. will it work for me or am i out of luck too?

The VZW keyboard is recessed, I dont know about the other models, but the keyboard that came with the gray housing will not work because it is flush (this is talking about the back of the keyboards)
I have been emailing Steve at cnn.cn about this and he says he has not heard of any other situations like this.
Is there someone out there that has a 8130 eithe Sprint or VZW that can confirm that these housings and keyboards work?

thanks for the info, but why would they advertise it as the 8130 shell..... Any one get any more news on this.....

8130 is reasesed and the 8120 is not, so it would only fit the 8120 right, from the pictures then, it would not work. they should take the 8130 off the site then...

I have bought the Grey Housing and the keyboard is not recessed like the VZW one and thus it doesnt not fit on the VZW!!! It sucks everything is perfect except for the keyboard and because of this the whole housing is useless. I have emailed CNN but because of chinese new year they are off till Monday!! HELP!!

goddamn it, now they have change the site after purchasing the grey full housing saying it will only work on 8110 and 8120...thats shady since i already bought it and found out myself it didnt fit.

Can we order parts directly from RIM? I mean, aren't they the ones that make all the different models for all the different carriers anyways? Make sense to me. I would like to get a black housing for my Alltel 8130. I don't like the "purple-ish" color.

Hey guys,
I know this topic is a little old..but does anyone know if the keypad is the same as the 8130 from telus..I know some of you guys have said that keypad is not identical to the VZW 8130 keypad and does not fit.
Another question if i got the full housing could you use the old keypad from my current 8130

Could you avoid the keyboard issue if you just changed the faceplate, battery cover, and bottom cover to black, while leaving the rest silver?
