Default Why we're not getting WLM - The answer (I think)

So I've been reading these posts for a couple days and trying to figure out why I can't get WLM on my BB Curve with Telus.

For those of you (including myself) who are going nuts following all the instructions to try and get the icon to install Messenger, I have now read posts (from all over the net) and put together some info I found in a few different places that may answer why we're not getting it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong because I am just passing this info on after reading it and trying to put together the pieces from a bunch of different sources and I don't know how accurate it is.

Apparently WLM for BB runs on BIS, which means as long as you have an email and IM plan (without having a web or data plan) it will run on the same system and be free to use. Telus does not like this but it is the only way it is being offered to them (from BB or WLM).

This alone could be the reason it took so long to get WLM on Telus. They only want it to run for people who have either data plans that include #/MB data use or the $30 and $45 plans that include unlimited web browsing.

So.....

If you have:
-Personal email & IM $15 (no web) or
-Personal email & IM $30 (no web)

you will not get the wlm icon sent to your phone no matter how many times you download service books. Telus does not want you to have it because you do not have any web services (unlimited or #/mb's). You (and I) only subscribe to email and BB instant messenger.

If you have:
Personal email & IM & Web $30 or
Personal email & IM & Web $45 or
any plan that includes x/mb data

You have or will be sent the icon to install WLM.

Again, I am just putting together info I read on many different sites and I don't know how true it is. If you have proof that this is wrong, I'd love to hear it because it would give me hope that I don't have to buy a web plan to get WLM.

Does anyone who only has an email and IM plan have WLM????

Cheers,
Mike

When Telus says unlimited email and IM, I'm pretty sure that IM means blackbery messenger. Windows Live messenger is just a data application. I have the $15 promo plan that's unlimited email IM text and data so works for me however I never got an icon on my home screen. I had to go to that website someone else posted at blackbery.com and download it manually. Never got an icon.
