Default Alltel,, Moved to ATN?? no reception at all HELP!

ok, so im not part of this big merger for verizon from alltel. im being moved to ATN .. some small company..
3 weeks of tech support they want to break my contract cause they cant get my 8330 to get any recpetion.. I LIVE 1/2 MILE from the nearest tower.
but support says im roaming from a verizon tower and there is no way to change that..
had a tech come out here. said no problems.. girl friend has been moved to verizon. she has perfect reception.. i cant even get a damn phone call !

anyone have any advice for getting on the tower that is this close?
im moving to sprint as soon as i get paid but im in limbo and no data transfer and calls is driving me mad..

its bad when TS comes back from hold and says " sir how can we make you happy?" told them break my contract for one and give me a few days to find another carrier.. but i dont have to money for a new phone, deposit,, or any of this noise!

i had perfect reception 3-4 weeks ago.. now i cant do ANYTHING!

im in columbia sc right now.. moved here, but have a upstate sc number.

this is so annoying..
ive done the battery thing.
ive done the 90 min battery out.
228
all the normal support things. no dice..

anyone have any advice on how to get a better signal from the tower i can basicly **** on from my back yard if i drank a gallon of iced tea!!!

Or, one can hit the ALT key and hit the letter key to dial using the letters instead of number...

Most Cell phone towers are sectored - as in not omni-directional - it's highly likely you are too close to the one you think you should be hitting, and are in a "dead zone" between two sectors the tower is geared to serve.

from TS im not hitting that tower at all. my g/f is . but shes a "non vested' customer and im "vested" as they said. they said im roaming on another tower way out from what i should.. they did something, had to . been working fine since day one. now nada. no new buildings. no new houses built..

just nothing!
i thought about that too. being to close. but if that was the case that would be if i was on that tower.. according to TS im not. so that scratchs that.

The problem is that legacy Verizon systems have been moved above non-divested Alltel systems in prl 41000. This has been done in preparation for the Alltel systems being integrated into the Verizon systems. Your best option would be to manually load an older prl into your device.

How would I do that? I'm not a skilled BB user. But I am tech enough to follow directions and if it don't work how to put old prl back so I can sell this BB to someone else to pay for my new sprint phone.
